This step may not be performed depending on
the applicable marketing area.
Only the harness shown in the illustration must
be routed through the clamp.
Make sure that there is no slack in the harness
between the clamp and the connectors.

13. Connect the supplied flat cable to the connector

Note:
The orientation of the cable should be the same as
the one in the illustration.

17. Attach the dual scan board to the main unit

using the two screws removed in step 11 and the 20. Reinstall the cover that have been removed in

Note:
Be careful not to pinch the harness.
Insert two claws A into the holes on the main
unit cover first. Then fit two claws B into the
holes.

III. Adjusting the height
1. Check the clearance between the upper face of
scanner and the protrusion on the dual scan doc-
ument feeder side. (Three spots)
* There must be no clearance between the protru-
sion on the dual scan document feeder and the
upper face of scanner.
2. If there is any clearance, adjust the height by
turning the adjustment screw on the right side
viewed from the back.
Clockwise: The rear side will move up.
Counterclockwise: The rear side will move down.
If further adjustment is required, adjust the height
by using the adjustment screw on the left side
viewed from the back together.
Clockwise: The rear side will move up.
Counterclockwise: The rear side will move down.

IV. Adjusting skew feed (Front side)

14. Tighten the mounting screw on the right hinge

that has been loosened in step 8 using a screw-
driver.

V. Adjusting leading edge skew

(Back side)
1. Place the chart in the document feeding tray

11. When the difference of the deviations is negative
(-), turn the screw clockwise using a slotted
screwdriver.
Note:
Look at the guide lines when making the adjust-
ment.
When turning the screw, be sure not to raise the
dual scan document feeder until in an upright
position.
* To prevent the adjustment screw breakage, be
sure to follow the above instructions.

* If the difference of the deviation does not fall
within the specified range, perform the following
adjustment.

II. Installation procedures

1. Turn off the machine and unplug the power cord

and-loop fastener (at two places on the left).
Note:
When removing the document pad, pull apart the
hook and loop fastener one by one. Pulling the
mall at once may damage the sponge.

and route the hookup harness into the guide.
