Worth: 50% of final grade

The Final Project is composed of the following:

1. You will use one (or more) Web2.0 Tools to create a Final Project that shows how information
impacts your life as a college student. You must include the following in your project:
a. Use of a Web2.0 Tool(s)
b. Final product must be available on the Web No log in required to view and evaluate.
In other words, do not make your pages private. You are more than welcome to delete
the pages after the end of term, but they must be visible for viewing. Please submit the
URL for your Final Project to the Dropbox. Please include your name somewhere on
your Final Project.
c. The following Tools are not allowed to be used as part of the Final Project:
i. Facebook
ii. Wordle
iii. Pinterest
iv. PowerPoint
2. Specifics of what Im looking for:
a. You are to use the tool to show or tell how information impacts your life as a college
student. Take a look at your day-to-day life and think about all the ways you use and
interact with information. Think of the different delivery methods and ways you receive
information. Use the Web2.0 Tool(s) to provide examples of the types of information
you use, the different ways information impacts your life as a college student.
b. Past projects have included blogs, wikis, videos, YouTube, etc.
c. I am looking for creativity and critical thinking about information. There are many forms
of information and many ways it impacts you. Tell/show me about the information in
your life. Think of all the information you encounter and illustrate to me using the
Web2.0 Tool you choose. You can choose more than one tool, but all tools must be
compiled in one location.
i. For example, if you do a video, embed that video on a Wiki page or blog.
d. Since this project spans a timeframe of a little over one month, Im also looking for
content. Just a few bog entries isnt going to provide the best grade for this project.
3. You will write a one page reflection paper on the process of completing the final project. What
are your thoughts on the project? What did you learn? Please let me know what you think about
the idea of using a Web2.0 tool to complete a project versus writing a traditional paper.
4. Remember, the Final Project is worth 50% of your final grade, so please be considerate of that
fact while working on your project.
5. Have fun!
