Condition of hull:

Vessel was boarded at anchorage, JAKARTA, INDONESIA. A complete round was taken around
the hull no any damage or indentation noted to the steel plates. Coating condition was generally
fair. Major break down sighted at visible area bottom and up.

Drafts marking on the visible area were in poor condition. Boarding arrangement and pilot ladders
were in poor condition.

Main deck:

Captain accompanied the inspector through the deck round which started from bridge and including
monkey island, visible part of the accommodation deck and main deck.

All the deck noted in fair condition. No any damaged or indentations noted which warrant any
further investigation.

Coating condition of all decks were generally in poor condition

Forecastle Deck:

Forecastle deck plating noted in satisfactory condition no damaged or indentations noted. Coating
condition was generally in fair condition.

The windlass and mooring units (electro-hydraulically driven) are mounted on either side of the
center line and noted along with its foundation in good condition and painted. Clutch operating
handles were noted to be in poor condition; lubrication of the gypsy wheels and the brake linings
noted in poor condition. The bitts and fair leads noted in order and free.

Paint store is located at poop deck port side. The deck plating noted in good condition. The paint
store was stocked with adequate paints. The ventilation is natural and sprinkler fire protected.

Main/Upper Deck:

The main deck noted in a satisfactory condition. Coating condition noted in poor condition.
Accommodation ladders and Pilot ladders with associated fittings are located on either side
abreast. Both ladders noted in poor condition.
Poop Deck:

The poop deck noted in sound condition and coating noted in poor condition. There are two (2)
electro-hydraulically driven mooring units on the poop deck with two (2) hawser drums
respectively noted in satisfactory condition. The mooring units foundation and its associated
plating noted in order. All bitts and fair leads noted in order. All watertight doors leading noted in
satisfactory condition. The access hatches noted in order.

Deck Cranes:

Manufacturer LIEBHERR / CBS3100/ 100 Litronic

No test has been carried out on the cranes.

As reported by the technical manager and captain the Crane No 1 is out of order.
The module for this carne was under repair.

However the two cranes need servicing prior any operation.

The crane pedestals, body and ladder bars of the cranes noted in satisfactory condition . The jibs
of the cranes noted in a sound condition, and the deck cranes along with their associated fittings
were noted in satisfactory condition.

Mooring Machinery and Equipment:

Mooring machinery on the forecastle deck is electro-hydraulically operated. The hydraulic power
pack for two (2) units of the windlass and mooring winch is located inside of forepeak store under
the forecastle deck, and appears to be in working condition free from oil leakages but minor drops
were noted on portside windlass.

Mooring machinery on the poop deck is electro-hydraulically operated. The hydraulic power pack
for one (1) unit of the mooring winch and it was found to be in order.

The mooring equipment on forecastle/poop decks noted in sound condition Winch foundations
noted in order, the clutches, brake liners were in poor condition.

The mooring bitts and fairleads noted in satisfactory condition, and the mooring ropes were noted
in very poor condition.

Hatch Covers and Hatch Coamings:

Cargo hold hatch covers are pontoon type, closed and opened by cranes

The water-tightness of the hatches is achieved by means of rubber packing tightening against
compression bars by its own weight and secured by manual cleats.
The hatch covers plating and its structure, the hatch coaming stays and coaming rails noted
satisfactory. The hatch covers rubber packing noted in poor condition. The hatch covers rubber
packing channels noted in good condition. Compression bars on the hatch coaming top rails noted
in satisfactory condition and all the drain pipes with non-return devices on hatch coaming tops
were found to be serviceable. Hatches are secured using manual quick-acting cleats, which were
found to be in poor condition. Coaming noted in sound condition but showing a rusted areas and
some piping support corrosion.

Cargo Holds:

The vessel has one (1) cargo hold and we inspected internally the cargo holds.
As far as could be seen, the condition of the cargo hold noted in satisfactory condition no
damaged or indentations but coating was in poor condition
The bilge system as could be seen not working . the suction of the bilge normally has to be done
by the bilge system operated from the engine room

Water ingress alarm systems are installed and the systems are reported by the ship staff to be in
good working condition.
The vessel is equipped with Mechanical ventilation system for cargo compartments, which was
found to be in satisfactory condition.

Ballast Tanks

Ballast tanks has not been inspected.

Ballast valves are electro hydraulic valves activated from Engine Room.

Superstructure and Decks

The superstructure is located fwd , rising 3 tier from the upper deck to navigation bridge deck
and externally noted fully coated and free from any kind of indentation. However there are some
spots of rust on funnel deck.

The handrails and access ladder were all in satisfactory condition, free of any damage.

Watertight doors, its rubber and packing noted in satisfactory condition.

Accommodation

There are 4 decks in the accommodation including the navigation bridge deck.

The accommodation decks noted in satisfactory condition,

The accommodation noted in poor condition need cleaning and to be provided with furniture

Bridge and Communication Equipment

The navigational bridge noted in satisfactory condition, clean and well maintained with the usual
s
Two (2) units of radar are fitted; one of them is equipped with ARPA facility. All of the bridge
equipment noted in good looking condition, condition. The chart table is located aft of the
navigational bridge. All the Admiralty charts and publications were not updated . GMDSS
equipment is located on the Stbd side of bridge aft and all GMDSS equipment is in duplicate.

Galley and mess room.

Officers and rating mess rooms are communicating through door access toward galley are not
clean and well maintained.

Machinery
The E/R noted spacious and in good condition regarding the structure. The spaces are well lighted
except for emergency exit lamp which noted out of order.
The machinery installations noted in place.
The M/E noted visually in good appearance with some traces of minor leaks.
The generator No 1 noted under overhauling process.
The seawater, F.W, F.O., L.O., Bilge and Sludge pumps noted visually in satisfactory condition,
with some minor traces of water leaks on certain inlet/outlet seawater pipes.

The E/R bilges noted oily with some rusty areas but sound.
The piping in general noted in satisfactory condition.
The Auxiliary boiler noted in working condition.
F.W. Generator noted in satisfactory condition.
The steering gear room and steering gear unit noted in satisfactory condition free from any leak.
With remark that access to steering gear room has access only from the garage which is very tight.
The space is well painted and clean.
Critical spares and other main engine related spares were found spread around the engine room
and well secured. As spares for M/E one covered piston, one uncovered liner 2 exhaust valves
serviced and one other under repair.
No other spare were sighted.
The machinery is clean and well painted. The E/R noted free from exhaust gas and other liquids
leakages. The engine room is well ventilated with large space.

The oil cooled stern tube noted free from leaks, the surrounding area the shafts noted clean.

Engine Control Room

The ECR located at portside and over to the Cylinder head flat, noted in order, being individually
air- conditioned with a single air conditioning unit. The main switchboard and the group starter
panel were found free of bastard cabling or modifications. The control console for M/E and
generators noted fully operational. And there was a computerized watch monitoring system (the
ship has additional notation UMA=periodically unmanned machinery spaces).

The main engine may be handled from either bridge or the control room responding to bridge
telegraph orders or can be operated from the main engine side if necessary.

The fuel bunker valves and hold bilge valves are hydraulically controlled.

Workshop

The workshop is provided with tools and equipment as under: A universal lathe
A pedestal drill unit
Two upright two-headed tool grinder with grinding wheel and buffing heads
Two steel benches, one with a vice.
A tool board with limited set of tools.
An electric welding set with good length of cable with portable set for deck use.
A main engine and generator fuel injectors test bench
An individual air conditioner, sea water cooling type.

Purifiers

Vessel is fitted with 2 ALFALAVAL fuel oil purifiers reported in order, however one only was
tested. And one set lubricating oil purifier of ALFA LAVAL. And one unit of diesel oil purifier
.
Main Engine

The main engine is a HYUNDAI B&W 6S50MC two stroke, single acting, turbo charged,
directly reversible marine diesel engine. The engine with a MCR of 10580 BHP@ 121.9 rpm.
The 2nd Eng. stated that the ship perform 100 RPM on laden condition and outlets temperatures
flirting the region of 350 ~360C

The power take off is directly coupled through a Intermediate shaft of forged steel, supported by
plumber block to the propeller shaft. The stern tube bearing is of simplex type.

Generators

No 1 A/E reported overhauled and alternator noted under repair .


No 2 auxiliary Engine noted in working condition andf oily need general overhauling as reported
by the chief engineer and the technical engineer.

The vessel is fitted with shaft generator which look in good condition.

Boilers

The ship is fitted with vertical water tube Aux. Boiler. Mountings found free from sediment
deposits and no exhaust leaks noted from the doors.

Steering Gear Compartment

The steering gear compartment is located aft of the garage, directly below the garage deck.

The steering gear noted well maintained and free from leaks. Both pumps and tele motor pumps
were reported operational.

The rudder carrier bearing noted greased. Rudder gland noted free from leaks.

The steering gear is accessed from the garage deck. Which noted very tight.
Fire and Safety Equipment

The vessel is protected by a Fire and Ballast pump in the engine room a.

The cargo holds, engine room and machinery spaces are protected by a CO2 System.

A Firefighting system for Engine Room is located on main deck the entrance from main deck.

Main deck and accommodation are protected by appropriate number of fire extinguishers and the
fire main protect.

An emergency diesel generator, make provides the vessels emergency lighting and back up DC
supply. Which noted out of order dismantled.

Firefighting equipment throughout the vessel was not in order. All fixed hydrants were correctly
stowed with suitable hoses and nozzles.
All servicing certificates not available on board but as could be seen the servicing of all FFE are
overdue for servicing.

Life Saving Equipment

Two totally enclosed hinged lifeboats noted in place and in satisfactory condition, the Stbd engine
run tested satisfactorily. The two lifeboats noted to accommodate 20 persons but the safety
equipment record shows the total No of persons accommodated by safety equipment is 20.
well secured, with wires and chocks being in apparent good order. Four (4) life rafts with a
capacity for 2x (20) and 2 x (6) persons fitted on 1st deck portside and starboard side.
Lifejackets, lifebuoys, EPIRB, escape breathing apparatus, portable VHF radios, and other safety
equipments are provided according to SOLAS requirements.
IN SUMMARY ;

The vessel staff showed a lack in updating the MPS especially records;

1. Ships certificates not on board ( in owner office)


2. Ships servicing certificates not on board (in owner office)
3. The bottom area as far as permitted to be seen, noted without any damage , coating noted in
poor condition , but the anti-fouling coating noted in poor condition , and there is marine
growth around all the bottom side as shown in photographic report.
4. Hull noted in sound condition, coating noted in fair condition
5. Ballast tanks not inspected
6. Main deck, fore castle, poop deck noted free from any damaged or indentation but coating
its the big problem which is noted in poor condition
7. Ramp not tested
8. Crane no 1 out of order ( module is under repair as reported by the technical manger
9. Crane no2 not tested but reported in working condition but need servicing by the
manufacturer prior any operation
10. Load test has to be carrying out for the cranes prior any operation.
11. The hatch covers rubber packing need to be renewed
12. quick-acting cleats for the securing of hatch covers need to be inspected
13. All air vents noted in poor condition corroded and holed to be maintained
14. Sounding pipe noted corrode to be maintained
15. Hatch access rubber packing need to be renewed
16. Hatch access door noted frozen to be maintained and inspected
17. Mooring machinery and fitting to be inspected and maintained
18. New ropes to be provided
19. All hydrant noted without cup to be provided
20. A/E NO 1 out of order
21. A/E NO 2 need general overhauling
22. Emergency generator out of order need general overhauling
23. Air condition out of order to be inspected
24. Shaft generator fixed with switch in the body of alternator, to be checked seriously.
25. Bridge publication to be up dated.
26. All bridge equipment need to be inspected by Radio Company.
27. All crew cabin need maintenance and to be provide with furniture
28. Life saving and FFE need servicing by approved company
29. Life boat, rescue boat need to be load tested

As far as could be seen and permitted by the Ships staff, noted in poor condition, with special
attention to noted lack of makeup which may lead to lack of maintenance.

The vessel will be due for the special survey on December 2017.

In general the vessel need to be dry docked and the items and remarks listed here above to be
checked.
