Paper C2 concentrates on building a basic understanding of financial accounting.

The objective is to give students a good grounding in double entry bookkeeping.
Students will also learn the preparation of basic financial statements for sole
traders, companies, non-profit making organisations and manufacturing accounts; an
introduction to internal and external audit; and interpretation of accounts (cash
flow statements and ratios). The main sections are:

* The conceptual and regulatory framework

* Accounting systems and accounts preparation
* Final accounts
* Audit
* Interpretation of accounts

All CIMA papers use international terminology and international financial reporting
standards. There is no UK stream.

Paper C2 is examined by computer-based assessment (CBA), which means that students

can sit their CBA at any time during the year.
