In the first part of the experiment we had arranged the resistances boxes and batteries in a series circuit wherein

the values for the current across the boxes will all have same measurement. Meanwhile, the voltage in each of the resistors
must sum up into the total voltage wherein it will be compared to the actual value using the Ohms law.

In the second part of the experiment we assembled the batteries and resistance boxes in order to create a parallel
circuit wherein the value of voltage across the three resistance boxes should be equal. While in the other hand, the current
flow in the resistors should be close to the actual value of the summation of current.
Conclusion

The experiment 306 entitled series and parallel circuits has four objective which are the following: First was to
determine the total current flowing through the resistors in both circuits; Second was to measure the voltage and the
current in each of the resistance boxes in the two setups; Third was to study the connection between the values of voltage
across each resistors and the total voltage; and Lastly was to figure out the relationship between the total current and
current flowing through each resistors.

We had validated
the theory that states that total voltage must be equal values with the voltage of the batteries used was present in the
experiment because the experimental values sums up to the voltage of batteries which was 3.5 volts.

In the second part of the experiment we assembled the batteries and resistance boxes in order to create a parallel
circuit wherein the value of voltage across the three resistance boxes should be equal. While in the other hand, the current
flow in the resistors should be close to the actual value of the summation of current. And we also encountered that since
the readings from the voltmeters has the same values in diffirent connections on the circuit, we concluded that voltage
across resistance boxes were equal.

Application

Application of series circuits is all around us because the batteries in a flash light and most of our daily electronic
devices uses this type of circuit. It is also popular in lighting purposes which are the use of switches to control lights.
The advantage of using a series circuit can be observe in Christmas lights wherein when there is a broken light bulb, the
flow if current will always flow all throughout the circuit.

Parallel circuits is much more common to be used than series in terms of power distribution. The reason for it is
due to the availability to control or manipulate electrical appliances or lamps individually which is very efficient for
conserving electricity Another example of parallel circuit is the process of jump starting a car because the voltage of the
car batteries is equal to the individual connections of jump cables.

Ohms Law is the basic electrical engineering law which has so many applications today some are the use of
charges, power supplies to electrical heater, electricity inside space ship and amplifiers.
