The experiment 304 had two parts wherein we determined the frequency of vibration however for table 1 we set

the linear mass density as a constant while for table two we set it as a variable.
In completing the table 1 we used the string with a diameter of 0.02 so that we can set the linear mass density as
constant while the tension of the string was set to be the variable so that equation (3) was balanced. Upon analyzing the
table, we observed that the length of string and tension was increasing as we increased the weight of the pan.

In table 2, we used one mass for every trial in order to set the tension as a variable while we used different
diameters of string in order to set the linear mass density as a variable. Based from the gathered data, we observed that
when we increased the diameter and the linear mass density of the wire, the number of segments and length of string also
increases, however it decreases the value of length of segment.

Conclusion

The experiment had two objectives to accomplish which was to calculate the frequency of vibration of strings
and to fully understand the behavior on various conditions of the frequency of vibrating string. These objectives were
completed through the setting of which is to be constant and to be variable in the two parts of the experiment.

In table 1, we were tasked to find the frequency of vibration by making the linear mass density as a constant
while the tension was a variable. We observed that the tension was directly proportional to the length of string and it was
inversely proportional to the quantity of segments.

In table 2, we determined the frequency of vibration by doing the opposite from table 1 where we let the linear
mass density as a variable and the tension to be a constant. We have observed that the diameter and linear mass density
of wire was inversely proportional to the length of the segment while it was directly proportional to the dimension of the
string.

The experiment was very successful due to the minimal percentage error from the gathered data. The marginal
error was due to some of the strings have bents which complicates the process of defining the segment.

Application

Vibration has a vital role in the environment. According to Albert Einstein, Everything in life is vibration. In
the law of nature, everything has vibrations especially atoms which everything was made up. Due to the constant
vibrations and depending how fast it is, things can appear as solid, liquid or gas. And sounds and thoughts were vibrations.
Without vibration, there might be no life. In engineering, Structural Vibrations was very dangerous to building due to the
fact that it can imply cyclic forces but due to the study of vibrations, engineers came up of minimizing or avoiding it by
the use of vibration isolators.
