General Information:
Integrated chemistry is an introductory course that focuses on conceptual
understanding of the foundational chemistry and physics core ideas, science and
engineering practices, and crosscutting concepts and is composed of chemistry, physics,
Earth and space science, and engineering design standards.
Materials Needed:
1. 4 triple A batteries for classroom calculators
2. Females bring a box of tissues and Males bring a container of wipes
3. Lab safety glasses optional (goggles are provided by the school)
Book/Resources Used:
Modern Chemistry 2006 Holt, Rinehart, and Winston
Students will need to enroll in Remind and Google Classroom
Course Schedule: ** Mrs. White reserves the right to update the schedule if necessary
for instructional benefit **

Scientific measurement 2 weeks States of matter 4 weeks
Chemistry as a science 1 week Forces 3 weeks
Properties of matter 2 weeks Reactions 2 weeks
Atoms/ions/isotopes 2 weeks Stoichiometry 2 weeks
Waves 2.5 weeks Energy 3 weeks
Nuclear 3 weeks
Periodic Table 2 weeks
Grading:
Grades will be based upon test scores, quizzes, daily assignments, homework, and
laboratory reports.
Quizzes/Tests/Projects 50%
Labs 30%
Classwork/Homework 20%
Make-up Work:
The student is responsible for obtaining and making up missed work. Class time may not
be used to complete make-up work. The number of days the student is absent is the
number of days that the student has to make up the work. If the student is absent
during a Quiz/Test, he/she will make up the test in class the day that they return.
Late Work:
All assignments are due at the beginning of the class period or at the assigned time on
Google Classroom. All late work will receive half credit. No assignments will be accepted
5 days after the due date.
Safety:
When using volatile or corrosive chemicals and/ or heating substances, students MUST
wear safety glasses/goggles. There will be a handout on safety issues that will be
required to be signed by the student and the parent/ guardian.
Assistance:
If you have problems regarding this course, I am available to assist you before school or
after school upon request. My schedule will be placed in my window for reference.
