Thank you for the donations and support of our yearly Bright Horizons Garage Sale. This
year we raised $2,458 for Bright Horizons which surpassed last years total. The Fellowship
Hall was BURSTING at the seams with donations and people waiting in line to purchase

 THE NORFOLK FOOD PANTRY
is now accepting donations of non-perishable
food items. Collection boxes are available in
several locations in the Narthex near the
front doors, in the west hallway, and by the
offices. Monetary gifts (placed in an
envelope designated to Food Pantry) may be
placed in the offering plate or dropped off at
the church office.
Please also prayerfully consider your gift of
time. The pantry is open for 2 hours each
day during September. The help is always
appreciated. Sign up to help TODAY!

TOWEL DRIVE FOR THE
NEBRASKA HUMANE SOCIETY
The Nebraska Humane Society has
expressed a need for towels in caring
for their animal guests. If you have
towels that are ready for a second
life, please bring them to the church
and look for the Humane Society
drop-box in the west hallway.

October 15th: Mercy Meal Packing, Sunday
@ DeVents Center, Divots. Teams will be
packing meals at 10 AM, noon, or 2 PM your
choice! Watch for registration opportunities.
November 30th: Date Night on Thursday
evening 5 8 PM. Drop off your infants thru
5th graders and enjoy a few hours without
the kids. The perfect time to Christmas
shop or enjoy a romantic dinner! Well
provide dinner for the kids. Watch for an
opportunity to rsvp.

will be a huge variety of service project
activities.

congregation that need yard work or inside small
repairs/cleaning that can be completed in a
couple hours, please ca

learn about St. Johns 2017-18
Confirmation Curriculum and
Schedule. Pizza will be provided for
supper. Scheduling will be posted
on our website and facebook. Please
contact Pr. Justin with any
questions.

or purchasing a notebook. Project Promise
School Kits are sent to places where even
the few required school supplies may be
more than a family can afford. Pencils and
paper can help write a positive future.
INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN EACH
SCHOOL KIT:
4 - 70-sheet notebooks of wide- or college-ruled
paper, approximately 8 x 10 ; no loose leaf
paper
1 - 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters
on one side and inches on the other
1 - pencil sharpener
1 - pair of blunt scissors (safety scissors with
embedded steel blades work well)
5 - unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers; secure
together with a rubber band
5 - black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink);
secure together with a rubber band
1 - box of 16 or 24 crayons
1 - 2 eraser
Please give new items only.
Please do not donate items with any
religious symbols, messages or your groups
name.
Please do not donate any items
decorated with a U.S. flag, patriotic or
military symbols, or references to the armed
forces, including camouflage.
Do not add other items or leave out any
of the items listed.
Do not enclose the kit or any of its
contents in plastic bags.
Kits and/or miscellaneous supplies can be
left in the washtub in the west hallway.
Also, feel free to pick up a shopping list or
take this one with you while picking out
school supplies to donate. If you would like
to donate individual items and not an entire
kit, these kits will be assembled during
Gods Work Our Hands Sunday.
