In the physical view, select the NE whose time needs to be synchronized, and then
click .
When you need to synchronize the NE time with the NMS time, set the time
synchronization mode and the related parameters.
Set Synchronous Mode to NM.
Click Apply.

Click Synchronize with NM.

Note:
When you need to synchronize the NE time with the time on the NMS server, the
time zone and time must be set correctly on the PC or server running the NMS
software.

1.2 Enable NE Performance Monitoring


Step Action

In the NE Explorer, select the NE from the Object Tree, and then choose
Performance > Set NE Performance Monitoring Time from the Function Tree.

Configure the performance monitoring parameters of the NEs.
Select 15-Minute and 24-Hour.
Select Enabled in Set 15-Minute Monitoring and Set 24-Hour Monitoring.
Set the start time and end time of the performance monitoring of NEs.

Click Apply. Close the displayed dialog box.


Note:
The start time must set earlier than NE current time.

1.3 Performing SD Combination Hold-Off Compensation Test


(Optional)
Step Action

In the NE Explorer, select a desired RFU-SD logical board (power off the RFU-SDs on
other channels) from the Object Tree and choose Configuration > Hold-Off
Compensation Test from the Function Tree.
Click Start. After the test is complete, the Prompt dialog box is displayed.
Click View test results in the Browse Abnormal Events window.

Note:
This operation can be performed only once after completing commissioning .

3.7 Querying the Clock Tracing Relationship


Step Action
1 Select Clock View from the Current View drop-down list in Main Topology.

2 The Clock View displays the clock tracing relationship between NEs.

The arrow direction in the Clock View indicates the clock tracing direction.
The number displayed on the continuous line indicates the priority of the traceable
clock. The smaller the number, the higher the priority. The Clock View displays the
line clock source IDs only. Internal clock sources are numbered, but their IDs are not
displayed in the Clock view.
Choose View > Display Setting > Legend from the main menu to browse
meanings of the icons and colors in the Clock View

Step Action
1 On the NMS, choose Administration > NE Software Management > NE Data
Backup/Restoration from the Main Menu.

2 In NE View, click Find.


Then, the Find NE dialog box is displayed.
In the Find NE dialog box, set the search conditions and search for the NE that
requires database backup.
Click OK.

3 Click Backup.
Then, the Backup dialog box is displayed.

4 Set the data backup path to NMS Server or NMS Client according to the
requirements.

Click Start to start backing up the NE data. In NE View, Operation Status


indicates the progress of backing up the data. After the data backup is successful,
Operation Status displays a message, indicating that the operation is successful.

4.2 Database Backup Policy


Step Action
1 Choose Administration > NE Software Management > NE Backup Policy
Management from the Main Menu.

2 Then, the NE Backup Policy Management dialog box is displayed.
In Auto Backup Policy window, set NE type.
The version, name, and IP address of the selected NE are displayed.
Click New Policy.

3 In NE Table, select one or more NEs.

4 Set Policy Name, Period Backup Policy, and Period Save Policy.

5 Click Advanced Settings, and set Backup Type, Max Backup Num, and Configuration
Change Backup for a certain type of NEs.
Click OK.

Click OK. Complete the configuration of Database Backup Policy.

4.3 Restoring Database by NMS


Step Action
1 On the NMS, choose Administration > NE Software Management > NE Data
Backup/Restoration from the Main Menu.

2 In NE View, click Find.


Then, the Find NE dialog box is displayed.
In the Find NE dialog box, set the search conditions to search for the NEs that need
to restore databases.
Click OK.

3 Select the NE whose data needs to be recovered, and click Recover.


Then, the Recover dialog box is displayed.

Step Action
4 Select Browse in File Name.
Then, the Select File dialog box is displayed.
Select files from NMS Server or NMS Client, and then choose the files to be
recovered. Click OK.
Set Activate Type to With Service Interruption and select Deliver To Board Activate.
Click Start.

5 Click Yes in the prompt dialog box.


The system starts recovering the selected data files on the specified NE.
In the NE list of NE View, Operation Status indicates the progress of recovering
the data.


After the data is recovered, Operation Status displays a message, indicating that
the operation is successful.
In NE View, right-click the NE and choose Active Database from the shortcut
menu.
The Active Database dialog box is displayed.
Click Start to start activating the database.
In NE View, Operation Status indicates the progress of activating the database.
After the database is activated, Operation Status indicates that the operation is
successful.

to be performed.

Step Action
1 Choose Configuration > NE Batch Configuration > Automatic Disabling of NE
Function from the Main Menu.

2 Select the desired NE from the Object Tree. Click .


In Automatic Disabling of NE Function, set Auto Disabling and Auto Disabling Time
(min).
Click Apply to complete the settings for the automatic release function.

Step Action
1 In the NE Explorer, select the NE.
Choose Alarm > Alarm Suppression from the Function Tree.

Set Status to Suppressed.

1 In the NE Explorer, select the NE.
Choose Alarm > NE Alarm Attribute from the Function Tree.

Set Alarm Reversion to Enable (Manually Restore).

1 In the NE Explorer, select the desired object. Choose Alarm > Alarm Severity and
Auto Reporting from the Function Tree.

Select any items in the column Event, set Severity and Auto Reporting Status for
them.
Click Apply to save the settings.
