Ethnocentrism In History
one instance of ethnocentrism demonstrated in history

ethnocentrism is a major reason for divisions among members of different ethnicities, races,

and religious groups in society. Ethnocentrism is the belief of superiority is one's personal
ethnic group, but it can also develop from racial or religious differences.

Ethnocentric individuals believe that they are better than other individuals for reasons based
solely on their heritage. Clearly, this practice is related to problems of both racism and
prejudice.

THE HOLOCAUST it is the killing of over six million jews during world war II. this thing was being
done because of the full authority of Adolf Hitler and other Nazis because they believed that all
the social problems and economic problems are occurred because of the jews. Adolf Hitler and
Nazis believed that it is their right and obligation to get rid of jews. Many people in germany
supported the Nazis and their racist ideas. In support to their intention of killing jews they
created the Antisemitic policies including the Nuremburg laws. Antisemitc is the belief or
behavior hostile toward Jews just because they are Jewish. It may take the form of religious
teachings that proclaim the inferiority of Jews, for instance, or political efforts to isolate,
oppress, or otherwise injure them. It may also include prejudiced or stereotyped views about
Jews. These laws took away all the jews human rights. They were not allowed to go to any
German schools or Universities. Jews became desperate to leave Germany but they find
difficulty to get into other countries. In the late 1930s the jews had been killed by Nazis they
were locked and the poisonous gas was released into the room. They died within fifteen
minutes. This historical event was made because Adolf hitler prejudiced jews by his own beliefs.
He believed that jews was the hindrance of germanys progress and its goal to gain more
power. Jews are being blamed by all the trials that happened in their country. If Im going to
elaborate this event we will just turn our backs to the very beggining that Adolf hitler and Nazis
discriminate and critizice jews because of their own culture. Adolf hitler used politics to make
their intentions happen. Since we all know that politics is everywhere. well, for me
ethnocentrism cannot be done without the use of politics. Politics means the art of using
power. Adolf hitler used his power because he is desperate to eliminate the jews. Adolf hitler

eliminates millions of jews because of his own perspective and beliefs. Adolf Hitler decided that
he hated Jews, as well as some other groups of people, and had many innocent people
slaughtered in concentration camps. They did not deserve the torture that they received, and
this was clearly an extreme case of ethnocentrism. While prejudice certainly leads to problems,
very rarely in history has ethnocentrism led to the mass slaughter of millions of innocent people
therefore, I conclude that this event in history which was well known as the holocaust is one of
the great and horrible example of ethnocentrism in history.

Moral Relativism
- Do you believe in moral relativism?

I believe in moral relativism because, we live in society where everyone has their own
perspective and outlooks in life. Our actions depends on how others interprets it. Some people
might think that youre right and some people may think youre wrong. It is because that you
can easily get judgements in everything you do. Why is that so? Its because were all different
in nature. We cant force anybody to believe in us. Something may be good for some other
people bad for others, indifferent to yet others. We have various moral outlooks with different
standards of right and wrong. But this doesnt mean that we must do whatever we want to do
because theres no such thing of right and wrong in your every action. Moral relativism doesnt
encouraging us to do whatever we want unconsciously. Rather, it helps us to understand our
individual differences and to respect our differences in beliefs. it enables us to enhance our
tolerance in understanding different cultures. For me, Moral relativism is all about having or
being sensitive enough for others by thinking what others might feel in your every actions and
also by having empathy because through this thing we can understand what others point of
view is. because you already put yourself in their shoes. By doing such things you can
understand how they came up to that action. Actions doesnt matter after all what matters is,
the intention. Whats the reason of the action? Is it for good or for bad? And if ever that the
intention of it was bad that is when we can say that the action was wrong. To make this more
understandable lets tackle the Extra judicial killlings which has been the most argumentative
issue in our country from now. From its word you can conclude that its wrong because it
includes killing. But, if youre going to look into its intention, its goal is to eliminate those who
are being abused by drugs. It is a serious issue because those who are being abused by the
drugs or should we call the addicts are also the main reason why our country is facing so many
crimes. Thats why they want to eliminate those people because they are being parasite in our
country and for us to have peace, security and to gain progress. But some people think that it is
a wrong idea because its against the law and some people agreed to it. See? We can imply
Moral relativism here right? Going back to the extra judicial killing, those people who are
against on it has been pointed out the victims( drug addicts) rights. They say that it has to be in

a right process. While those people who agreed to it have been pointed out the rights of the
victims of drug addicts? What about the families that has loss their love ones because of them?
From this issue we can see that they are judging the extrajudicial killing by its action rather than
in its intention. This only proves that they are no such right and wrong in our every action
because it is depends in every someones perceptions, outlooks and beliefs. But if you really
want to identify whats right and whats wrong you need to look in its intention because this is
were you can understand the real reason why do they came up to that action and decision. Its
not your action its your intention. Moral relativism is a tool we can use to understand all the
great variation of the way people live in the world. moral relativism promotes tolerance since it
encourages us to understand other cultures on their own terms.
