Hackers take aim at key U.S. infrastructure

This article by [ CITATION Har13 \l 1033 ] raises critical and worrying issues related to

the automation of the installations at national levels. The incidences of hacking highlighted in the

article spans not only locally but also in the internationally as well as highlights some of the

reason behind the hacking of the systems. Although the article speculated in the sources of some

of the hacking activities, it how the importance of not rushing into conclusion rather, we should

make a thorough investigation to establish the facts

It is crucial that the countries and the nations critical infrastructure are well protected,

when they are connected online. The security level sin place should be strong enough to ensure

the safety of the installing not only now but also in the future. The author raises a dreaded

situation where an attacker may make a attack now with aim of not only learning about the

working of the infrastructure but also to launch another attack in the future, which will make the

security systems of the infrastructure already flawed by its design. Besides ensuring the safety

of the business and the critical installations, it will also be crucial for the business to also ensure

a safe interaction and connecting with its third party vendors who may provide an access to the

business.

Businesses must also be alert all the time to identify any breaches in the security of their

companies. This is evidenced by the Petersons quick decision to avert a companywide spear

phishing attack via emails. Additionally, the safety measures can also include avoiding taking

some critical installations on line to prevent a remote attack on the organization.
