This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 256 Railway applications (Secretariat: Germany).
The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Schienenfahrzeuge
(Rail Vehicles Standards Committee), Technical Committee AA 2.03 Federung/Dmpfung.
Council Directive 2004/17/EEC of 31 March 2004 supersedes Council Directive 93/38/EEC of 14 June 1993
referred to in the Foreword of the European Standard.
Amendments
This standard differs from DIN 5539, December 1994 edition, and DIN 5540, April 1990 edition, as follows.
a) European Standard EN 13802 has been adopted in full.
