A strength challenge

We put this swing up today and Siham you wanted


to try. How to make it
work.
You discovered that you
needed to use both your
hands to hold the swing
and move back as far as
you could go.
Then it was lift your legs and
swing. You thought this was
lots of fun and you repeated
this challenge over and over.
You held the wooden bar with
only one hand and tried to
swing . You discovered very
quickly that you couldnt do this. When
you finally finished,you said you had
sore arms. No wonder! They had to do
lots of work. You were working those
upper body muscles very hard. It is also
hard to swing keeping your legs curled
up like you had to or they would drag on
the ground and stop you swinging.
Next time you use this swing, I wonder if
you can swing yourself upside down and
put your legs up on the wooden bar. We
will just have to wait and see.
