awareness to an altered state, the same state that
happens when a person wakes from sleep but is not
fully awake.

a. Laboratory-based experiments have documented a significant increase in the recall
of hypnotized patients as compared to normal control experiments.
b. Trance allows deeper access to parts of the subconscious or unconscious mind
that are normally outside our ordinary wakeful consciousness as noted in an article
in Psychology Today.

a. A professional hypnotherapist slowly leads the client into a relaxed state of
subdued alertness or trance.
b. During trance, the mind becomes is more suggestible to specific or general healthy
behaviors.
c. Hypnosis also promotes relaxation and is a good stress relief technique.
d. Hypnotherapy has been strongly recommended by medical professionals as a
treatment for gastrointestinal problems, chronic pain, anxiety, and many other
conditions.
e. Once the individual has had one or several sessions with a certified
hypnotherapist, he will be more familiar with the experience and confident in his/her
own ability to use self-hypnosis.
