Silent features of Net Metering

Net metering is a billing mechanism that credits solar energy system owners for the
electricity they add to the grid.
Project capacity ranging from minimum 1KWp upto 1MWp with/without baVery
back-up support will be eligible.
30% subsidy from MNRE on capital cost of system (for residen/al and social
sectors).
Commercial and Industrial Users can avail an accelerated deprecia/on on Solar
Plants
The solar power generated in excess of the owners electricity consump/on is fed
into the grid through a bi-direc/onal energy meter capable of registering both
import and export of electricity.
State Electricity board will take energy meter readings for import/drawl and
export/injec/on of power and generate the bill.
The consumer will be issued Energy Account Statement along with the bill for
charges other than sale of power i.e. meter rentals, service charges etc., and
banked energy will be carried forward for accoun/ng in the next billing cycle.
