INTRODUCTION
Obesity is defined as having excess body fat. Overweight is defined as having

excess body weight for a particular height from fat, muscle, bone, water, or a

combination of these factors. Body mass index, or BMI, is a widely used

screening tool for measuring both overweight and obesity.

Children that obese are at higher risk for having other chronic health

conditions and diseases that impact physical health, such as asthma, sleep

apnea, bone and joint problems, type 2 diabetes, and risk factors for heart

disease. In some cases children with obesity are bullied and teased more than

their normal weight peers, and are more likely to suffer from social isolation,

depression, and lower self-esteem. In the long term, childhood obesity also is

associated with having obesity as an adult, that leads to serious conditions

and diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and

several types of cancer.

In order to address and stop childhood obesity, the teachers of MAPEH will be

having a program that will provide activities to counter childhood Obesity.

Executing Entity The MAPEH department will be the main executing

entity in the said project. The said department
will identify obese/ overweight students during the
health related fitness test done on the first month of
school year 2017-2018.

Project Description The said Project will try to design a fitness and active
lifestyle program for identified obese students by
using different variety of sports that will be
performed or played by the said students

Objectives: Objectives:

1. to manage or help the students to achieve normal

weight by providing them sports activities

2. to make students have an active lifestyle

3.to let students to be physically fit

Expected Accomplishments The students will be able to have a healthy and fit
body. They will be able to have an active lifestyle.
Their skills in sports will be also enriched and
improved.

Expected Outputs There will be an improved body mass index and fitter
body for obese students. They will be able to play
more sports and enthusiasm in sports will be
developed in the school setting.
