GENERAL NOTES:
All works and installations listed here below should be carried out, tested
and commissioned by specialized responsible contractor by coordination
with Beit Hanoun Municipality and CMWU, all in accordance with
drawings, specifications and relevant standards, and the instruction of the
Supervisor Engineer. The Engineer has the right to reject any component
of the work not complying with the specifications and the requirement of
the contract.
The contractor should provide for all discrepancies and arrange for all
mechanical and electrical materials, fittings and accessories that may
require completing the installations properly, and any necessary works
to install the equipments properly as specified, shown on the Drawings
and directed by the Supervisor Engineer.
Complete detailed shop drawings should be delivered to the Engineer
to take his approval prior the commencement of work. Samples of all
materials shall also be delivered to the Engineer to take his approval,
The price for underground pipes and connections works shall include
excavation, leveling, compaction, pipes laying including all piping
works such as proper jointing, welding, cutting and shaping, testing,
disinfection, required microbiological tests, bedding material under,
surrounding, and above the pipe with clean dune sand, backfilling by
supplying proper and approved material or with suitable and approved
selected excavated materials, the backfilling should be on layers not
exceed than 20cm with compaction, removing surplus excavation
material outside the site to places as instructed by the Engineer, and
reinstatement to original condition of all roads and areas used or
disturbed by the Contractor to the satisfaction of the Engineer. The
price shall include execute thrust blocks for elbows, teesetc. and all
other necessary works, all above should be according to the drawings,
specification, standards and under the supervision and direction of the
Engineer.
Wherever, the pipes and connections fittings installed above the
ground (none buried), the pipes connections fittings shall be coated
with three layers of epoxy. The pipes and fittings underground (buried)
shall be coated with epoxy primer and two layers of extruded
polyethylene coating.
Interior surfaces of all steel pipe and fittings shall be lined with cement
mortar lining, factory made.
All used bolts, washers, nuts etc should be made of stainless steel
grade 304.
All replaced, malfunctioning, and/or additional items should be
delivered to a proper location according to the instruction of the
Supervisor Engineer.
For steel shed works, all measurements to be taken on the horizontal
projection. The works include the temporary moving and reconnection
of the existing facilities.
Tiling works shall include, excavation, leveling and preparation,
watering, and compaction up to 98% MDD of all layers including the
sub-grade (after performing any excavation works in general) and base
course layers (not more than 20cm), the works include and the disposal
of surplus excavated material to a proved site, all complete as
described in the Specifications, as shown on the Drawings, and as
directed by the Supervisor Engineer.

1. Civil Works
1.1 Remove the rusty areas of the main gate with
emery paper (sandpaper), the item includes the
removal and replacement of bottom profile (4 m)
and rusty sheets (70100 cm), providing and fixing
approved Wally switch or equivalent, and repaint
the gate with one primer coat and at least three
coats of approved oil paint, all according to
Engineer's instructions. L.S. 1

1.2 Dismantling and reinstallation of the eastern gate to

its new location according to the drawings, the item
includes the preparation of the new location
including the cutting and removal of walls,
footings, concrete columns, beams, plastering,
painting etc. in addition to supply and build to
close the old place using hollow cement blocks
from approved factory with compressive strength
35 kg/cm2 with all requirements in perfect
dimension, and plastering, painting works. Also,
the works include the removal of the rusty areas of
the gate with emery paper (sandpaper) replacing
deteriorated profiles and parts, and repaint the gate
with one primer coat and at least three coats of
approved oil paint, , all according to Engineer's

1.3 Construct walkways interlock tiles (B300) 6cm

thick including 10 cm base coarse with 5 cm sand
and chamfered edge reinforced concrete beam
(B250) 2030cm 412 and 8@20cm stirrups.
Levels, colors and shapes all determined according
to drawings, specifications and the supervisor
Engineer's instructions. M2 120

1.4 Treat water leakage joint in the ceiling between

the generator and well room with an approved
sealant to prevent water leak and supply and lay
one layer 60cm width of plasticized bitumen
roofing membrane of approved type, 4mm thick
including priming concrete surface prior to laying ,

1.5 Supply and install galvanized steel cover

147194cm using Galvanized steel bars 16mm
for the valves chamber, including hinges, hidden
hands, lock, frame angels etc, and paint at least

the chlorination room to be replaced with non-

mortar bed and 5cm thick sand bed, with all
associated materials and finishing works. The item
includes the required excavation for the
construction of reinforced concrete flooring 10 cm
thick made of ready mix concrete class B250 with
steel mesh 18mm @ 20cm for the room, all as
described in the Specifications and as shown on the

1.8 Supply and install non-slipping white ceramic floor

tiles size 30300.8 cm. (Europe type). The price
should include 2.5cm mortar bed and 5cm thick
sand bed, skirting of same kind and color of the

marble 2cm thick granite (Tiger eye) for the top

shelves, back of cupboards, floors, all of local

1.18 Supply and install galvanized steel ladder, the price

should include painting with one prime coat and

2. Mechanical Works
2.1 WaterPumpingUnit:
Dismantle the existing vertical turbine pump
complete. Supply, install and connect to the
electrical board, multistage Vertical Turbine Pump,
Saudi National Pump, KSB, Hamecdash, Paterson
type or equivalent complete with all associated
fittings and accessories recommended for
installations by the pump manufacturer with
electrical motor US motors type or equivalent with

hollow shaft, 1450rpm, IP55, stator winding fitted
with PT100 temperature sensors. The motor should
be capable to operate the system and should be
selected according to the manufacturer
recommendation.
The unit should be comprised of vertical line shaft
driven turbine pump of cast iron bowls with rubber
bearings, bronze impellers, suction strainer, bronze
line shaft bearings with rubber inserts, including
stainless steel grade (ASTM A582 grade 416 stainless
steel) 1 Dia. column drive shafts, and epoxy
painted steel column pipes 6 diameter. Sch. 40
(min thick 7.92 mm) with minimum total length of
82m, well head foundation, steel discharge head
6/6 epoxy painted, and 3 galvanized steel pipe
for measuring water level, in addition to any
fittings and components required for the
satisfactory operation of the system and all
necessary works according to specifications,
drawings, and instructions by the Engineer.
The works, installations and prices should include
for all mechanical pipe work installations,
electrical installations with cables including
builders work installations with all associated
reinforced concrete plinths specified by the
manufacturer's installation manual.
The operating point of the pump is (115) M3/hr at
a total dynamic head (TDH) of 88m at minimum
78% pump efficiency. The pump largest diameter
must not exceed 8. L.S. 1

2.2 PUMPING MANIFOLD AND CONNECTIONS:

General:
The works include the complete dismantling and
replacement of existing 8 manifold with new
and complete epoxy painted carbon steel, Sch.40,
6" diameter pumping manifold according to
the attached drawings. The new manifold shall
include all needed works and required items
including, flanges, fittings, couplings, reducers,
connections, SS bolts, washers, and nuts, gaskets,
jack supports, thrust blocks etc, complete all
as described in the Specifications and as shown
on the Drawings and as directed by the Engineer.
The works also include all requirements to
reconnect the new manifold piping system to the
existing distribution pipes.

2.2.1 Supply and replace the steel base of the cooling

system tank and change all connected pipes to the
discharge head, including valves and fittings as per
specifications, drawings and the instructions of the

2.5 Supply, install, and operate complete set (2 pumps)

1.5 HP fuel feeding gear pump 35 l/min., suction
head at least 4 m, and delivery head at least 3 m,
suitable for providing fuel to the generator tank and
including all required fittings, floats, valves etc
and the connections to the main control board.
The item includes the replacement of the rusty fuel
pipe 3/4" and install new black steel pipe (3/4")
with all fittings (elbows, couples, etc.) to
connect the fuel tank with the generator including
paint with one primer coat according to Engineer's
instructions. L.S. 1

2.6 Dismantle, supply and install 500 Liter

polyethylene white chlorination tank with built in
factory made manual stainless steel mixer. The
works and installations should include for all
associated fittings and accessories required to
accommodate and connect the desired system
feeding point through underground stainless
steel pipe all according to drawings, specifications

class B300 main sewage collection manholes as per
specifications and drawings complete with 20cm

joint required to fix the pipe to the manhole,
external bitumen painting.
The item also includes excavation, supporting the
trench sides and backfilling using clean sand with
watering, and compaction after approval of the
engineer. Locations are as shown on in drawings

1.7 Ditto, but cast iron cover (25 tons capacity),

1.8 Supply and install UPVC pipes 6" for drainage

connection from the manhole to the main sewer

The unit should be comprised of vertical line shaft
driven turbine pump of cast iron bowls with rubber
bearings, bronze impellers, bronze line shaft
bearings with rubber inserts, including stainless
steel grade (ASTM A582 grade 416 stainless steel) 1
Dia. column drive shafts, and epoxy painted steel
column pipes 6 diameter. Sch. 40 (min thick 7.92
mm) with minimum total length of 93 m, well head
foundation, steel discharge head 6/6 epoxy
painted, and 3 galvanized steel pipe for measuring
water level, in addition to any fittings and
components required for the satisfactory operation
of the system and all necessary works according to
specifications, drawings, and instructions by the
Engineer.
The works, installations and prices should include
for all mechanical pipe work installations, electrical
installations with cables including builders work
installations with all associated reinforced concrete
plinths specified by the manufacturer's installation

2.2 PUMPING MANIFOLD AND CONNECTIONS:

General:
The works include the complete dismantling and
replacement of existing 8 manifold with new
and complete epoxy painted carbon steel, Sch.40,
6" diameter pumping manifold according to
the attached drawings. The new manifold shall
include all needed works and required items
including, flanges, fittings, couplings, reducers,
connections, SS bolts, nuts, gaskets, jack
supports, thrust blocks etc, complete all as

reconnect the new manifold piping system to the
existing distribution pipes.

2. Mechanical Works
2.1 WaterPumpingUnit:
Dismantle the existing vertical turbine pump
complete including the motor. Supply, install and
connect to the electrical board, multistage Vertical
Turbine Pump, Saudi National Pump, KSB,
Hamecdash, Paterson type or equivalent complete
with all associated fittings and accessories
recommended for installations by the pump
manufacturer with electrical motor US motors type
or equivalent with hollow shaft, 1450rpm, IP55,
stator winding fitted with PT100 temperature
sensors. The motor should be capable to operate the
system and should be selected according to the
manufacturer recommendation.
The unit should be comprised of vertical line shaft
driven turbine pump of cast iron bowls with rubber
bearings, bronze impellers, bronze line shaft

11. Electrical switchboard:

Supply and install 100 Amp complete electrical
control switchboard compatible to drive the pump

The contractor has to modify the components ratings
to comply with the pumping system ratings. The
enclosure panel shall be of galvanized steel,
electrostatic painted and of 2 mm thickness. The
works and installations should include for all cabling,
ducting, trunking and connections.
The contractor should submit the required shop
drawings for approval for the entire system.
The works include but not limited to supply and
installations of the following:
The main Panel board enclosure consisting of three
sections of dimensions as per required specifications
and drawings.
The three sections of the enclosure consist of the
following:
GEDCO metering panel including electricity
meter and breakers as per GEDCO Standards
and specification.
Changeover section between the main GEDCO
electricity and the local Generator. This section
includes the changeover, the instrumentation&
measuring devices and indicators .
The third section is designated for the power
and control circuits of the main motor. It
