Irina Azarova has been working in

Roshchinski State School for 15 years (2002 -


present) after graduating from Lipetsk Teachers
Training Institute, the faculty of foreign
languages with honors. The teacher
demonstrates leadership, flexibility and passion
for teaching. She has an ability to select and use
teaching methods appropriate for the situation.
She maintains and develops relationship with
students, parents and colleagues. Irina Azarova
often conducts seminars and conferences,
promotes new methods and techniques for
teachers of the region. She publishes the results of her works in mass media. The
teacher works closely with her students and their parents. She specializes in
developing creative abilities and assignments that children are eager to try and
encourages exploration and curiosity that bolster a childs desire to learn rather
than basic material. For this she uses various teaching methods such as lectures,
discussions, games, seminars, conferences, round tables lessons,
demonstrations and others. The teacher has a great reputation among children and
parents. Irina Azarova organizes and manages extra-curricular activity at school.
She shows tolerance and respect and has excellent knowledge of group behavior
and dynamics, social trends and influences, culture and history of Russia and
English-speaking countries. She is an active participant of many competitions in
different levels:

A finalist of the TEA competition, organized by IREX;

The winner of the Regional Competition The Teacher of the Year twice;

The winner of the Regional Competition The Best Methodical Development of


the English Lesson Famous People of Our Region Who We Are Proud of;

active use of the modern information technologies, the efficient use of the digital-
subject teaching materials;

Irina Azarova participates in different kinds of seminars and conferences in


Moscow, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Yelets, Tambov, Ryazan, Kursk, etc where she has a
chance to exchange her ideas with her colleagues. She also organizes guided tours
for foreigners who work in Roshchinski where students tell them about the sights
of Roshchinski and Chaplygin. She also takes part in charity projects.

After returning from the USA she does her best to change the educational system
of the region, to implement American methods and techniques (World Caf,
Digital Storytelling, Blooms Taxonomy and others). She organized the
international project My Lovely Pet together with Watauga High School,
Boone (the USA), meetings with teachers and students in different schools in
Chaplygin. Irina Azarova held open lessons in the 6-th and 7-th grades where she
invited the students parents. There she put into practice the forms of group work
which she had learnt in Watauga High School and Appalachian State University.
The teacher always shares all the information on the school site and in other mass
media. She made a speech about the educational system of the USA in front of
the teachers of the region during the regional courses of the teachers of English.
Irina Azarova organized a video conference with students from Tunisia (together
with the TEA finalist Olfa Naimi) in 2017. The students had a chance to know
more about two countries, their food, clothes, traditions and teach each other
some words in Russian and Arabic.

In 2017 she won the Global Teacher Grant and conducted a workshop in her
school where she invited an American teacher and a TEA finalist from Russia.
More than 25 teachers of English from Lipetsk region were present. They
watched the video greetings to the participants of the conference from Kazakhstan
(TEA Alumna 2015 Mira Kadyrova) and 4 teachers from the USA. The
participants were able to get to know the American methods of teaching (World
Caf, Digital Storytelling, Assessment (Blooms Taxonomy), Assessing
Pronunciation, Google Apps, Kahoot, Literary Clubs) in practice.
