The laws of thermodynamics deal with the transfer of energy but only refer to systems that
are in equilibrium. Therefore, they allow to determine the amount of energy required to
change a system from one state of equilibrium to another but do not serve to predict how
quickly these changes can occur. Heat transfer complements the first and second law,
providing methods of analysis that can be used to predict this rate of transmission.
When a fluid is brought into contact with a solid surface at a different temperature, the
resulting heat exchange process is called convection heat transfer. There are two types of
convection processes: free or natural convection and forced convection.
KEY WORDS: Conduction heat transfer, Convection heat transfer, Radiation heat
transfer.
INTRODUCCIN
The present report of the laboratory has as purpose to present the experiences in the
laboratory of unitary operations give us in this opportunity to know the determination of the
thermal conductivity existing in a composite flat wall, applying the law of Fourier. The Fourier
law asserts that there is a proportionality (a constant K) between the energy flow J and the
temperature gradient, where J is the energy current density (energy per unit area and per
unit time), which is set In the bar due to the difference in temperature between two points of
the same.
In practice, walls composed of different materials are presented, a wall composed of three
materials a, b, c arranged in series is schematized.
