ABSTRACT
Malnutrition in under 2 years of age will cause brain cells was reduced 15% -20%, so
that the child later in life to have the quality of the brain around 80% -85%.
Prevalence of underweight children under five underweight or toddler is still high.
Based on Health Research Association (RISKESDAS) 2007 prevalence of
malnutrition (W/A <-2SD WHO 2006) 18.4% and underweight infants (weight/height
<- 2SD) of 13,6%. It shows even though the prevalence of malnutrition has dropped
lower than the target of health development Indonesia 2009 is 20% and the
achievement of the Millennium Devolepment Goals (MDGs) in 2015, 18,5%, but the
prevalence of infants is still high. Achievement of MDGs targets for the percentage of
Lampung province malnutrition 3,5% of the MDGs <4% and the percentage of
malnutrition MDG target of 10% of <5% in 2010.
The purpose of this study to determine the relationship of nutritional status on the
development of children aged 1-3 years.
The method of research was conducted in 6 health centers Talbot posyandu working
area which consists of 6 villages in Bandar Lampung. Cross sectional study was
conducted with the subject of children aged 1-3 years are healthy and cooperative at
the time of inspection, as well as parents in the study agreed to participate. Tests
carried out by researchers and development using KPSP (Pre Skrening Questionnaire
Development). Four aspects of development that assessed the gross motor, fine
motor, speech and language, social and independent research conducted from 27
September 2012 till date 11 October 2012.
The results got from the number of subjects in 113 children aged 1-3 years who met
the inclusion criteria and 100. Children who experience normal development 93
(93,0%) and doubtful 7 children (7,0%). While the nutritional status assessed by
BB/TB, the normal 92 children (92,0%) and obese 8 children (8,0%). From 8 obese
children nutritional status, among whom 7 children of which had been developed

with the development and progression of 6 children with a doubt have had a normal
nutritional status.
