Here is a preliminary rough draft of a 1-pager just to give you an idea of what's going on.
I'm awaiting more detailed input from the Sector and the Corps to finalize this thing.
The TX Border Brief will also help define the issues specific to each fence segment impacted.

The proposed location is the only location that is affordable and operationally feasible.

It's the water district, and it's on the issues slide, and the Corps is helping me draft a 1-pager on why
we'll be condemning an ROE there - basically it's because IBWC won't let us build fence on levee,
pushing it down to impact adjacent County land.

If u need a brief asap, (b) (6) got a very good handle on it.

It was discussed thoroughly at Friday's TX Border brief to Mr Giddens.

Also going to condemn against Hudspeth Co. - though they are more likely to sign roe here soon.

Good afternoon.

We are starting to get media calls on this subject, and if this was in our status slides I must have
missed it.

Can you provide any background on this?

Thanks.

City Council votes to deny border fence access By Erica Molina Johnson / El Paso Times
<mailto:emolina@elpasotimes.com?subject=El%20Paso%20Times:%20City%20Coun
cil%20votes%20to%20deny%20border%20fence%20access>
Article Launched: 03/18/2008 11:31:31 AM MDT City Council today unanimously voted to deny
permission to the Albuquerque district core of engineers to an access road across city property.

The vote was an affirmation of the council's opposition to the construction and replacement of border
fencing in the area.

The vote followed a presentation on the fence proposal by border patrol agents.
The council also asked Mayor John Cook to write a letter to congress to explain its action, letting
congress know there was not the required community consultation on the issue before the proposal was
brought forward.
