Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron and his
family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing
through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with
me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are and how much I
love You. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed in my body and my soul.

Jesus Christ took authority over the power of darkness.
Mark 1:27b, For with authority He commands even the
unclean spirits and they obey Him.
God gave no instructions to the Old Testament saints for dealing with the devil,
and there is a very good reason that He didnt. Believers who lived in Old
Testament days had no authority over the devil. God and His angels rebuked
satan when it was necessary because no one else had the power to do it. All
this changed when Jesus came.
The Bible says that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. The people
of Israel were amazed that Jesus had power over the devil. Most people were
afraid of the devil, but Jesus made the devil obey Him instead. He rebuked the
devil with Gods Word. He told the evil spirits to come out of peoples bodies,
minds, and spirit, and they did. Old Testament believers could not take authority
over satan because they never had the sin taken out of their hearts. They were
forgiven when they trusted God, but the sin was not washed away.
Until Jesus paid the price on the Cross for our sins with His own perfect blood
everyone was identified by their sins. But as believers in Christ we are now
identified by the blood of Jesus. His blood bought back the keys which held the
power to death and bondage.
When we believe in Christs death and resurrection, we are free from the
power of sin. We have the power of the Cross to stand against the devil. The
devil is a real enemy, but we should follow the example of Jesus and rebuke him
by speaking the Word of God.
