Tests are given approximately every other week or following a unit completion.
Students are expected to complete some form of formative assessment daily
Quizzes can be given at any time (most are announced) and will reflect homework
assignments.
Students have homework daily, if not given a written assignment, then students are
expected to review the material covered in class that day.
Students are required to follow laboratory safety procedures.

Grading Policy and Evaluations
Grading. Generally: All grades will be on a 100 scale; however, grades are weighted based on
the following school policy:
Tests/Assessments 30 %
Projects/Assignments/Classwork 20 %
Quizzes 25%
Late Assignments:
Assignments are due at the beginning of class on the due date (to be placed in the assignment
box). Students will receive a letter grade/day deduction for late assignments. Remember that it
is always better to turn in an assignment late than not at all.
Absent students must still hand in pre-assigned assignments on due dates (unless otherwise
discussed) or the next present day. If students are absent on the date an assignment is
assigned, 2 extra days will be allowed for that assignment. Note: Afterschool arrangements
may be necessary for missed quizzes, tests, or labs. Make-up quizzes and tests will cover the
same information but may be different and are often in a different format than the original quiz or
test. It is YOUR responsibility to pre-arrange a time after school to make up any Test or
Quiz.
Absent students please check the homework board, absent-assignment box (your name will be
on the assignment), and/or class Secretary or President.
