GMS GRADING TIMELINE 2017-2018

https://nhd.org/ is your best resource for this very extensive PreAP project. Visit it often, learn about the theme, look at the
student examples, and read the Contest Rule Book for your category. In class library dates will vary by grade level. All grades
will go to the library a minimum of two days. After school NHD tutorials in the library begin in October.
The majority of work is expected to be done on your own time.
Do not work with a partner/group if A) You know they arent a hard worker or very responsible or B) You dont live close to
each other

6th grade source minimums:

Individual - minimum of twelve sources with at least five Primary Sources and five Secondary Sources;
Group- minimum of twenty-four sources with at least ten Primary Sources and ten Secondary Sources;

September 22th - Contracts & Topic Due (Daily)

October 6th - Annotated Bibliography citing 6 minimum School database sources due (Daily Grade)

November 6th - Process Paper due (Major Grade)

First section should explain how you chose your topic.
Second section should explain how you conducted your research.
Third section should explain how you selected your presentation category and created
your project.
Fourth section should explain how your project relates to the NHD theme.

December 11th - NHD PROJECT DUE - (Major Grade)

Project with Title Page, Process Paper & Annotated Bibliography stapled together.

January 16, 2018 - GMS Campus Fair

February 24, 2018 - Fort Bend Regional Fair Sartartia Middle School
