Produce Handling Facilities Hygiene and Sanitary Policies

The following are policies of

that
FV 5.1.2 - supervisors will be trained on food borne illnesses using the document
entitled Food Borne Illness Training for Supervisors. Document will be provided in
English, Macedonian-native language of employees. Supervisors will sign off on
training and documentation of signatures will be kept on file.
FV 5.2.1 - all supervisors once trained will be instructed to ensure that employees
who handle product do not have open wounds on their hands. Any employee having
sores, cuts, lesions, boils, etc., on their hands will not be allowed to come into contact
with product.
FV 5.2.2 - all employees must read and sign off on the Food Handling Dos and
Donts. Documents will be provided in English and Macedonian. Documentation of
signatures will be kept on file.
FV 5.2.3 supervisors are trained to detect cleanliness of outer garments before
employees are allowed to begin work. Employees will not be allowed to work if outer
garments are not clean.
FV 5.2.4 smoking or the use of any tobacco product is strictly prohibited in the
production area. No food, drink, or gum is allowed in the production area. Designated
areas will be set aside from the production area for smoking, eating, and drinking.
FV 5.3.1 toilets will be provided according to Good Agricultural Practices guidelines.
Toilets will be disinfected with an appropriate chlorine solution after each days use.
Toilets will be monitored for cleanliness on a daily basis with results being
documented on appropriate form.
Hand washing facilities will be provided containing non-perfumed soap, alcohol gel,
and paper towels. Hand washing facilities will be monitored for cleanliness on a daily
basis with results being documented on appropriate form. It is company policy that
signage in Macedonian stating Employees must wash hands before returning to
work will be placed in all toilet facilities, hand washing facilities, and eating/
smoking areas.
