The objective of this research was to study the youth and their relationship with the urban space in the city of Santa Maria-RS, focusing on youth groups. Through its territorialization, the intrinsic relation between identity and space was discussed. The ethnographic method and the flâneur tool were used to locate and observe juvenile groups in Parque Itaimbé. Sector three of this Park has proved to be one of the best places for the territorializations, be it for its green area and wide space, or for the favor of meetings, peaceful coexistence and possibility of appropriation of the space. It is concluded that the youth groups need spaces of socialization that allow the experience in groups. Their territorializations sufficiently demonstrate the search for places that, in themselves, contrast with the gray color of the city, the noise, insecurity and lack of freedom that are in the vicinity of the Park.
