Ministry for the Sick and Homebound
We are grateful to those who give of their time and
care to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners
who cannot make it to church due to sickness or in-
firmity. If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive communion in their home or while hospitalized
at West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish office.

On behalf of the parish, wed like to thank all
702 the volunteers that came out to help with the
lawn care project last Saturday. About a
dozen zealous workers patched the grass, removed
debris and over-seeded the entire property. Hope-
fully with their efforts, our grass will look even better
next year.

Bishops Collection for the Needs of the
Church in Canada ~ September 23-24
Why is there such a collection? Every year, the
Bishops of Canada make an appeal for financial as-
sistance to support their work and the work of each
diocese/eparchy by means of the Collection for the
Needs of the Church in Canada.. This Collection is
an opportunity for Catholics to truly help their dio-
cese/eparchy participate in the regional episcopal
assemblies and the CCCB. Any additional revenue
which is raised is used by the diocese/eparchy for its
own pastoral programs and other activities.

Albert Einstein famously said:
Insanity is doing the same thing
over and over again and expecting
different results. Hes certainly
right, except for todays gospel sto-
ry. Jesus teaches us that, regard-
less the frequency, we should al-
ways offer forgiveness. We are
challenged to forgive over and over again -- no mat-
ter how many times the offender sins against us.
This goes against our human nature. An old Italian
proverb states: He that deceives me once, its his
fault; but twice, it is my fault. This implies we could
forgive once, but never twice.
When we fail to forgive, we carry a grudge against
the offender. Five hundred years before Christ, the
great Chinese philosopher Confucius wisely said:
To be wronged is nothing, unless you continue to

Year of the Rosary ~ Pray for Peace
A Diocesan Marian Event, in celebration of the Year
of the Rosary & the 100th anniversary of the Fatima
Apparitions will be held on Saturday, September 30,
2017 at St. Alfred Church, 272 Vine Street, St. Cath-
arines, Ontario. Mass will be celebrated by Most
Reverend Gerard Bergie at 8:30 a.m. Reflections on
Mary and the Rosary and Celebration of a Living Ro-
sary 9:15 a.m. 11:30 a.m. Parishioners and dioce-
san organizations from across the diocese are all
welcome. Free Admission/No Registration.
