Semester conditions for

Conditions for the signature (to be fulfilled during the class-period):


One must participate in at least 70% of all classes. (Justified absence will not be counted.)
There are two midterm tests. The 1st test (30 min.) takes place in the 6. semester week, the 2nd test
(90 min) takes place in the 14. semester week. The marks of the 2. midterm test must be no less
than 24 points (40%). In case of failed 2nd midterm test, one repeated test can be written in the retake-
week (i.e. the 15th semester-week). If the repeated test is not accepted, then the semester is invalid
and no signature will be given.
Six homework (max. 10 marks each) must be solved and submitted until the deadline. All the six
homework should be accepted (min. 4 points, 40%)! Homework that was not submitted by the
deadline can be submitted within two weeks after the deadline. The final deadline for the late
submission of the last homework is Thursday 12:00 of the repetition week after the class-period. These
late submissions are subject to extra process fee and will be marked maximum to 80% (i.e.,
maximum to 8 points). If any of the six homework were not submitted by two weeks after the
deadline, then the semester cannot be validated and the practical mark is fail!!! Homework that
is not accepted is to be delivered again within one week of receipts and will be marked maximum to
40% (i.e., maximum to 4 points). Homework submitted after the original deadline cannot be
resubmitted for correction. At the final mark, the best four of the six homework will be counted.

Recommended marks will be determined as follows:


- either based on the sum of the points obtained for the two midterm tests and for the homework in the
case when no repeated test is written,
- or based on the 2nd midterm test or based on the repeated test only.
The final mark is determined in the way that gives more points for the student.

2. midterm test only: midterm tests + 4 homework:


- 23 points: fail (1) - 47 points: fail (1)
24 - 32 points: pass (2) 48 - 65 points: pass (2)
33 - 41 points satisfactory (3) 66 - 83 points satisfactory (3)
42 - 50 points: good (4) 84 - 101 points: good (4)
51 - 60 points: excellent (5) 102 - 120 points: excellent (5)

Minimum requirements for the submission of homework:


Homework must be submitted by the deadlines shown in the schedule of the semester. It is
recommended to check the results on the website of the subject before submission.
The first page of the homework should be the printed homework assignment with the table of results.
Only neatly written problems will be graded: plain A4 pages, figures drawn by pencil with ruler, text
written by pen, your name and code shown on each page, etc. Use only one side of the A4 sheets (do
not write on both sides). The sheets should be stapled together (no cover, no folder).
In case of derivations each major step must be explained. Homework containing pure mathematical
formulae only will not be accepted. Each solution must have proper units.
All questions must be answered.

Wrong and/or not accepted homework should be submitted again. Please mind the following points:
The 1st version should remain unchanged.
New cover sheet should be filled in, with mention 2nd submission.
New elaboration should be written or/and drawn only to those parts which were not accepted in the
1st version.
Both new and old versions should be delivered.

Disciplinary Measures Against the Application of Unauthorized Means at Mid-Terms, Term-End Exams
and Homework

The following students are subject to disciplinary measures.


(a) *Those students who apply unauthorized means (book, lecture notes, infocommunication means, tools for storing and
forwarding electronic information, etc.), different from those listed in the course requirements or adopted by the lecturer in
charge of the course assessment, in the written mid-term exams taken, or *invite/accept any assistance of fellow students,
with the exception of borrowing authorized means, will be disqualified from taking further mid-term exams in the very
semester as a consequence of their action. Further to this, all of their results gained in the very semester will be void, can
get no term-end signatures, and will have no access to Late Submission option. Final term-end results in courses with
practical mark will automatically become Fail (1), the ones with exam requirements will be labelled Refused Admission to
Exams.
(b) *Those students whose homework verifiably proves to be of foreign extraction, or alternatively, evident results or work of
a third party are referred to as their own, will be disqualified from taking further assessment sessions in the very semester
as a consequence of their action. Further to this, all of their results gained in the very semester will be void, can get no term-
end signatures, and will have no access to Late Submission options. Final term-end results in courses with practical mark
will automatically become Fail (1), ones with exam requirements will be labelled Refused Admission to Exams.
(c) *Those students who apply unauthorized means (book, lecture notes, infocommunication means, tools for storing and
forwarding electronic information, etc.), different from those listed in the course requirements or adopted by the lecturer in
charge of the course assessment, in the written or oral term-end exams taken, or *invite or accept any assistance of fellow
students, with the exception of borrowing authorized means, will immediately be disqualified from taking the term-end
exam any further as a consequence of their action, and will be inhibited with an automatic Fail (1) in the exam. No further
options to sit for the same exam can be accessed in the respective exam period.
(d) *Those students who alter, or make an attempt to alter the already corrected, evaluated, and distributed test or
exercise/problem,
i. as a consequence of their action, will be disqualified from further assessment in the respective semester.
Further to this, all of their results gained in the very semester will be void, can get no term-end signatures,
and will have no access to Late Submission options. Final term-end results in courses will automatically
become Fail (1), ones with exam requirements will be labelled Refused Admission to Exams;
ii. and will immediately be inhibited with an automatic Fail (1) in the exam. No further options to sit for the
same exam can be accessed in the very same exam period.
