1 OSH management
1.9 When purchasing, attention is paid to occupational safety and
health.
This is a high priority risk.

2 Work environment (site related)


2.1 Rooms are designed and equipped in a way that cleaning can be
safely conducted.

2.2 Slips, trips and falls are prevented.

2.3 Cuts, scratches and bruises are prevented.

2.4 Risks related to cleaning toilets and dealing with waste are
prevented.

2.5 The electricity, gas and water supplies are in order and well-
maintained.

2.6 Risks related to ambient factors are prevented or controlled.

2.7 All necessary facilities (changing rooms, toilets etc.) are available
and well maintained.

3 Work equipment
3.1 Equipment and devices the workers have to work with meet
ergonomic requirements.

3.2 The necessary work equipment is available, of good quality and


well maintained.

3.3 Exposure to vibration and noise is prevented or controlled.

3.4 Exposure to harmful cleaning agents is prevented or controlled.

3.5 The workers are provided with the necessary and well-fitting
clothes and PPE.

4 Window cleaning
4.1 Ladders are used in a safe manner.
4.2 Ladders are available, of good quality and well maintained.

4.3 Ladders are transported in a safe manner.

4.4 Workers use telescopic tools safely (waterfed pole systems).

4.5 Awkward positions during window cleaning are prevented.

5 Work execution & organisation


5.1 Health risks related to manual handling are prevented.

5.2 Tasks and responsibilities are clear to the workers.

5.3 Measures are taken to reduce time pressure.


This is a low priority risk.

5.4 Workers have sufficient breaks.

5.5 Working time, including overtime provisions, is as stipulated by


national legislation or collective labour agreement.

5.6 When organising work schedules, issues related to health and work
life management are taken into consideration.

5.7 Health and safety related dangers of lone work are controlled.

5.8 Risks related to violence and aggression are prevented or


controlled.

5.9 Risks related to bullying and sexual harassment are prevented.

6 Fire prevention and emergency procedures


6.1 The workers know what to do in case of an accident.

6.2 The workers know what to do in case of a fire alarm.

6.3 The workers know what to do in case of serious and imminent


dangers.

1.7 The appropriate supervisions of the health of the workers is


ensured.

1.8 Risk to pregnant workers and workers who have recently given
birth or are breastfeeding, are prevented.
