What DO you like about the new process?

The new bins help the street look really neat on trash day.

What DON'T you like about the new process?

Haven't really found a major problem with this yet (other than the bin covers remain open after pickup and
could collect rain/snow).

What DO you like about the new process?

Not having to sort my recyclables. Plus the fact that the Recycling Container is much larger than the old bins.
The new containers are pretty big. I have a family of 4 and our recycling container fills up to the top while the
trash container is maybe a third full each week.

I like that all he recycling goes into just one can and I don't have to worry about separating everything.

What DON'T you like about the new process?

I don't like the fact that if it's not in the can that it just stays there. For example, this past week I had a rather
large box that would not fit in the can so it was broken down and put on the side of the recycle bin. However,
after everything was picked up the box remained behind. Sometimes we are going to have things that aren't
going to fit. These items should still be taken so long as they are on the street.

I like the new cans. they are sturdy and large.

What DON'T you like about the new process?

the one can limit is a bit restricting. Sometimes things happen and you have a large item to throw out that is too
much for a single garbage can.

I like how curbs look on trash day...clean....

What DON'T you like about the new process?

What i don't like is that for what we pay for our trash they want us to pay for an extra bag or buy another
bin..that is crazy. We just had a huge family gathering and had to ask our neighbors if we could drop 2 bags in
theirs.bins. Wish I could of brought it to the dump but out of luck....

What DO you like about the new process?

Single stream recycling

What DON'T you like about the new process?

Nothing. Although they need to educate others better about the correct spacing between bins... perhaps a sticker
campaign on the trash cans that are not far enough apart...

What DO you like about the new process?

We like the clean lines of the barrels on trash day. We also like to load the recycling barrels without having
to separate the plastics and paper. The barrels are easy to bring to the curb. We like the fact that we see more
recycling bins out than before and we feel like the overall good will be more recycling or re-using.

What DON'T you like about the new process?

We don't like the fact that this is costing us more money. We have already paid $35 for overflow and we haven't
even had a major event i.e. moving, purging, guests etc. We have already paid $35 for overflow and dump
costs. I transfered my trash from my old barrels and could only fit one of my old barrels into the new barrel.
There are some bigger carts that we have seen in other states. It does seem like we have the smallest size. The
old system was much easier to use if we had extra items. Not sure how the "$22" savings would impact anyone.

Less trash blowing around my street from neighbors trash and recycling bins being left open or uncovered or the
collection truck operator dumping some of the trash on the ground while trying to load it into the truck.

What DON'T you like about the new process?

The containers are HUGE. We barely have any trash and very little recycling every week. These containers
are overkill. I wish we had option of two different sizes to choose from. My driveway is steep and long and
in the winter these huge containers will be a problem to get up and down the hill, especially for my wife if I
am traveling. I do not have room for them in my garage so I have to keep them outside and I hate looking at
them. Does anyone know where to find 65 gallon trash can liners so we can keep these monstrosities clean????

I like having the large recycling bin and only having to bring 2 barrel to the curb. I'm not sure I've really
noticed a difference in the service that would lead me to say it is better than before. I put the barrels out, go to
work, come home and put them back in the garage.

What DON'T you like about the new process?

I definitely lost some capacity. I am constantly working on the house and cleaning out garbage. I donate/

The biggest issue for us is MAGGOTS! In the trash can. Disgusting. We kept our trash barrels in the garbage
before and never had a problem. We always bag our trash inside the barrels. Now, with the new town barrels,
we had a major maggot problem. DISGUSTING. So now we have to keep our barrels outside. That's a
bummer. I've heard of other families having maggots, too.

1) It encourages recycling
2) It saves the town and users money
3) The carts have wheels

What DON'T you like about the new process?

1) There are too many oversized items that don't fit into the cart, so they're going to pile up in users' cellars and
garages
2) It's a "one sizes fits all" approach which does not work for many users.
3) The carts are too big and heavy (when full)for many women, elderly and disabled to easily handle. Once the
snow and ice arrive, it will be even more difficult for the above groups of users. A smaller cart is not always the
solution unless we could have two.

Bins are a storage burden. A bit difficult for older folk to wheel them up and down long driveways. Winter
will be interesting. What happens when the plough comes by in the middle of the night...we can't all get out and
shovel before work. Also will have to shovel out a bigger area in the street to accommodate the bins. The snow
banks are tough enough to clear a small area to a walkway.

responded previously with a Yes but wanted to make another comment/question - we haven't been putting our
recycling out every week since some weeks we have only say 1/3 full - does that save Franklin any money?
We just figured it was the responsible thing to do - only put out when filled - why have the truck stop if it's not
really worth it. It's different if it's garbage but since it's all clean stuff we feel it helps the environment more.
Are we also helping Franklin save money that way? Might want to publicize it a bit if that's the case.
