Indian Army says, they want Israeli Quick reaction Surface to Air - Spyder Missiles
( QR - SAM ) instead of Akash Missiles. They have firmly rejected much-touted
indigenous Akash missiles. They have claimed that Israeli Quick reaction Surface to
Air Missiles ( QR - SAM ) are better than indigenous Akash missiles to take on enemy
fighters, helicopters and drones. Defence ministry sources said the Army has made it
clear that it does not want any more Akash regiments after it gets the first two
ordered earlier for Rs 14,180 crore with six firing batteries and hundreds of missiles
each.
Indian Navy has also turned to France for similar requirements after dumping the
Akash missiles for its warships due to ..stabilisation problems...
The Army holds Akash area defence missile systems do not meet its operational
requirements for defe nding its strike corps against enemy air attacks in forward
grass Instead, it wants the global route for procurement of QR SAM regiments" the
sources said.
According to Defence Ministry, Indian army lusts for Israeli Quick reaction Surface to
Air Missiles ( QR - SAM ) and wants global route for procurement. Indian army has
conducted tests for missile system from Israel, Russia and Sweden, after which it has
claimed that Israeli Spyder QR - SAM has emerged as a winner.
Indian army is already on course to induct Israeli Spyder QR SAM from Febraury
2017 onwards. Akash is Indias first advanced tactical missile to be made almost fully
indigenously.

Swamy writes:

My sources indicate that the pre-determined decision to favour the French

aircraft [Dassaults Rafale] was the outcome of several conversations between
the wife of French President Ms. Carla Bruni and the Chairperson of the
National Advisory Council Ms. Sonia Gandhi, and surprisingly also with two
foreign nationals who are the sisters of Ms. Sonia Gandhi.
The operative part of his letter goes: Based on some credible information
given to me on the conversation between Ms. Carla Bruni and Ms Sonia
Gandhis sisters, there has been an agreement of the French to pay a hefty
bribe for favouring the purchase of French aircrafts.

Every major Army officer in the good books of the government, has conveniently
blamed DRDO for their ineffficiency, but nobody speaks about high level of corruption
in Ministry of Defence.

Controversial arms agent Abhishek Verma's

name has once again surfaced for allegedly
bribing Home Ministry and Defence Ministry
officials in securing a defence deal in
favour of US small arms manufacturer Sig
Sauer.

NDTV has accessed extensive correspondence

between Abhishek Verma's wife Anca Neacsu
and Sig Sauer officials, which show the US
company was using Mr Verma and his
associates for gaining entry into the
Defence Ministry and Home Ministry.

Eyeing a $1 billion contract to replace

Indian Army's Insas Assault rifles, Sig
Sauer conspired with Mr Verma using his two
front companies - Ganton USA and Ganton
India. Documents show Sig Sauer agreed to
pay 10 per cent commission to Mr Verma
 The documents, which include bank
transactions, show that payments of $50,000
and $125,000 were made to procure two
tenders. The documents have also named
several top officials which influenced the
deal, including officials of Joint
Secretary level in the Home Ministry.

The documents are being investigated by the

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)
including videos taken in the Home Ministry
and Defence Ministry.

Abhishek Verma is currently in Tihar jail

on charges of illegal arms dealings. He was
arrested in December 2012.

Long ago, Indian Government scrapped MMRCA to indigenously produce Fighter Jets.
In realty, adding just another 36 Dassault Rafale Fighter Jets make little operational
difference to Indian Air force fighting ability. Most importantly there is ..No Make in
India or Technology Transfer.. in the deal.
