Anti-virus servers have been deployed across

NICNET in every state and Ministry called the

Child Servers. They are all bound to a central
console configured in NICNET HQ called the
Parent Server. Each Child Server is monitored.
Virus can attack a system by opening infected e-
mail attachments or downloading infected files.
However, this can be prevented by following
certain guidelines like installing antivirus
software and ensuring regular updates, using
software patches to close security loopholes
and installing a firewall to prevent unauthorized
access to the network.

McAfee Antivirus installation procedure:
I. Step ONE
A. Go to antivirus.nic.in
B. Download McAfee_installation zip file
C. Extract McAfee_installation.zip to desktop
D. double click on McAfeeInstaller.bat

E. Verify that DAT is upto date after 10 minutes

F. Right click on McAfee Agent icon in task bar

 G. Click on collect and send props button

If Above installation is failed then follow Step TWO given below:

1. Click Run as administrator on Framepkg.exe

6. Do the following setting:
1 .License expiry type: Select Perpetual
2. Check I accept the terms in the license agreement & now click
OK

13. Right Click of McAfee Logo and click on McAfee Agent Status
Monitor

14. Click on Collect and Send Props, Send Events, Enforce Policies
and Check New Policies, Enforce Policies

Your machine will take 5-10 minutes to download updates from
McAfee Server.
