We are grateful to those who give of their time and
care to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners
who cannot make it to church due to sickness or in-
firmity. If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive communion in their home or while hospitalized
at West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish office.

We commonly read about
labor disputes in the head-
lines of our newspapers.
Labor disputes, like the one
in todays Gospel story,
have a long history dating
back to 1754 B.C.E. with
the Code of Hammurabi. It
consists of 282 laws, including the famous ruling: an
eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. But, even that far
back in time, they were still arguing over the wages
to be paid to an ox driver, a surgeon or a day labor-
er.
Todays Gospel is not really about labor law. It is a
powerful lesson which teaches us that God is offer-
ing us the gift of eternal life. There is no way that we
could ever earn it, much less to deserve it. This gift
comes from the pure goodness of God who loves us
more than we can ever comprehend. --Dc. Dick Folger

Celebration of a Living Rosary - In celebration of the
Year of the Rosary & the 100th anniversary of the
Fatima Apparitions will be held on Saturday, Sep-
tember 30, 2017 at St. Alfred Church, 272 Vine
Street, St. Catharines, Ontario. Mass will be cele-
brated by Most Reverend Gerard Bergie at 8:30 a.m.

wish to give them to whomever you
