The Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) program is a five-
year, PHP 1.3-billion program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
that will strengthen applied research activity in Philippine universities and industries. It seeks to
create a network of academic and industry researchers to spur innovation that brings about
inclusive economic growth.

The STRIDE project and the Mindanao Academic Case Developers Consortium (MACDC) welcome
you to apply for an upcoming case teaching workshop in Davao City on September 28 - 30,
2017. Four scholars/faculty from Mindanao who have published their case studies with the
William Davidson Institute-University of Michigan will be leading the workshop. They are among
the more than 30 tertiary professors and lecturers who underwent the instructor training on case
teaching methods under the mentorship of Prof. Julie Felker from the Ross School of Business,
University of Michigan. The workshop will explore the methods of teaching a university course
using case studies from the STRIDE Case Collection. During the workshop, you will also be
equipped with tools and training methods for you to conduct follow-on trainings on case teaching
for your colleagues upon return to your university.

If you are interested in applying for this unique opportunity, please fill out the form through this
link: http://gg.gg/CaseTeachingWorkshop not later than August 31, 2017. Due to limited slots,
this is a competitive application process and only successfully selected applicants will be
admitted during the workshop. Successful applicants are also required to commit to conduct a re-
echo seminar with their fellow faculty in their respective universities. Please note that the activity
will require a 3-day commitment to travel to Davao City. The training will be free of charge but
selected participants will be responsible for their own transportation and accommodation
expenses to the workshop location in Davao City.

We look forward to your application for this unique training opportunity as we strive to build
capacity in faculty that can document successful partnerships between industry, academe, and
government throughout the country.

Sincerely,

Richard Abendan
