Question #1 :
After drawing circuit below on fluidsim
program, I concluded these answers:

a) The state diagram of each component is:

1. In this case cylinder (A) starts move then cylinder (B) moves before (A)
reach the end of piston, and the same will happen between (B) and (C).

2. In this case state diagram for directional valves:

During the work of the VA, VB starts working. In the period of stopping VA
and VB , VC starts working

3. Last case is the state diagram for valves (a,a+,b,b+,c,c+)

we notice that piston A , B and C are initially close , A+ B+ and C+ works
when A B and C stoped work.

b) to achieve different operating velocities of the actuators

just by control the input pressure form compressor and adding
450 N force on each cylinder .

speed of the cylinder C with input

pressure = 1MPa

speed of the cylinder A with input with

input pressure = 1.5MPa

speed of the cylinder B with input with

input pressure = 0.5MPa
speed of the cylinder C with input with
input pressure = 0.6MPa

speed of the cylinder A with input with

input pressure = 0.7 MPa

speed of the cylinder B with input with

input pressure = 1.2MPa

c) cylinder (C) will not extend , until cylinder(A) and cylinder (B) are
be fully extending.

Cylinders A and B are fully extending and cylinder C not yet extend
All cylinders are fully extending
D) If the system flow and pressure is 50 l/min and 7bar respectively,
and cylinder C resists a load of 500 kg, find the dimension of cylinder C
capable of moving the load with constant acceleration equal to
3m/s2 . What is the effect if the cylinder A, B and C have different
dimensions?
- Due to cylinder that I used in fulidsim s=10cm

The difference in the dimensions of the pistons leads to variation in

velocities. So that the speed is inversely proportional to the space of
the piston

Question #2 :
This circuit works to move the piston first to 10 mm and after a second moves to 20 mm and
then back to the beginning (0 mm)Second, the piston moves to 30 mm and a second moves to
40 mm and then returns to the beginning (0 mm) and so up to 60 mm.
To make this circuit work for 100mm just put more we put in more stages that are similar in
each of the previous steps
