CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

This chapter presents the introduction, background of the study, statement of the

problem, significance of the study, hypothesis, and scope and limitations.

Introduction

Web design is a process of conceptualizing, planning, and building a collection of

electronic files that determine the layout, colors, text styles, structure, graphics, images,

and use of interactive features that deliver pages to your site visitors.

The term web page specifically refers to HTML documents. Otherwise, we only

use the term document

The most important reason for having a website is to be found by your potential

clients, as they are likely to find you on the web and can easily get an access.
 It is the process of creating website, It encompasses several different aspects,

including webpage layout, content production, and graphic design. While the terms web

design and web developments are often used interchangeably, web design is

technically a subset of the broader category of web development.

As the time goes by internet has become the universal source of information for

million people in the world at home, at school and at development of ore the technology

advances the more we can less the work of storing data and passing of information.

"DO 26, s. 2015 - Learner Information System (LIS) and Enhanced Basic

Education Information System (EBEIS) Updating for Beginning of School Year

(BOSY) 2015-2016"

This simply means that a new way of storing the students profile is needed in

able to easily get enroll in that particular school or university.

Background of the study

A database is a collection of information that is organized so that it can be easily

accessed, managed and updated.

 Data is organized into rows, columns and tables, and it is indexed to make it

easier to find relevant information. Data gets updated, expanded and deleted as new

information is added. Databases process workloads to create and update themselves,

querying the data they contain and running applications against it.

Since every school year, students line up to fill up the forms needed for

registration but it is pretty much tiring if the students will do this repeatedly every new

school year will come.

Statement of the Problem

The study aimed to find out the web page design used by the STEM students of

Morong National High School. Specifically, the studies sought to answer the following:

1. What is the level of acceptability of the development of web page design for storing

student's profile database forms in terms of:

1.1 Responsiveness of the web page

1.2 User Friendliness

1.3 Framework
 1.4 Accessibility

2. Is the site serve as a helpful instrument for the teachers?

Significance of the study

The importance of this study is to help the teachers to monitor the

students data and information when it comes to their profile, they will just fill up the

forms once and it will be safely stored in the database good for the rest of the school

year. Teachers are also benefited in this kind of study they will just check what is the

name of the students and then they easily find the profile needed to be legally

registered in that particular school or university.

For the researchers, it will help them to create a new prior knowledge that can be

contributed to the particular school that the study will be conducted to serve as a

resolution for all of the problems of the students and the teachers.

Hypothesis

There is no significant difference in the development of webpage design in

storing student's profile database forms.

Scope and Limitation

The study aimed to determine the development of webpage design for storing

students profile database forms. The researchers utilized interview questionnaires to

gather necessary data needed in the study. The respondents of this study were the

STEM students of Morong National High School which is located at Tomas Claudio

Street, Brgy. San Juan, Morong, Rizal. The study will be conducted in Morong National

High School.

The study was limited to the STEM students in Morong National High School.

The researchers chose this study to know the development of web page design

for storing students profile database forms and found out its effectiveness.

CHAPTER 2

EVALUATION, DESIGN AND FRAMEWORK

This chapter presents the Theoretical framework, Conceptual framework,

Variables, Definition and Importance of the Study, and the Definition of terms.

Theoretical Framework
 This theory is anchored to Henry David Thoreau: Walden A database can

be thought of as a kind of electronic filing cabinet; it contains digitized information

("data"), which is kept in persistent storage of some kind, typically on magnetic disks.

Users can insert new information into the database, and delete, change, or retrieve

existing information in the database, by issuing requests or commands to the software

that manages the database-which is to say, the database management system (DBMS

for short).

This is essential to our study because as the theory have said "Users can

insert new information into the database", which it can help our study to support that it

will serve as a helping tool for the teachers in storing the data of the students in an easy

way. It will typically have widely differing performance characteristics; in particular, they

could have execution times that vary, quite literally, from fractions of a second to many

days. Thus, its very important that the optimizer choose a "good" way to implement any

given request, where "good" essentially means having good performance. One

immediate and significant implication of the foregoing is assuming the optimizer makes

a reasonably good job of things, users shouldn't have to get involved in performance

issues at all.

Conceptual Framework

The conceptual framework of the study is based on the own point of view of the

researchers. it was created to guide the researchers throughout the study.

Variables, Definition and Importance of the Study

The study aimed to find out the web page design used by the STEM students of

Morong National High School. Specifically, the studies sought to answer the following:

1. To determine the development of web page design for storing students profile in

database forms with respect to:

1.1 Responsiveness of the webpage- It can be viewed using many different devices:

desktops, tablets and phones. Our webpage should look good, and be easy to use, regardless

of the device. We use CSS and HTML to resize, hide, shrink, enlarge or to move the content to

make it look good on any screen.

1.2 User friendliness- It describes a hardware device or software interface that is easy to

use. It is friendly to the user, meaning it is not difficult to learn or understand.

1.3 Framework- is an abstraction in which software providing generic functionality can

be selectively changed by additional user-written code, thus providing application-specific

software.

1.4 Accessibility- The website can be found and used by all people. It refers to

the inclusive practice of removing barriers that prevent interaction with, or access to

websites. It is correctly designed, developed and edited, all users have equal access to

information and functionality.

 Definition of Terms

The following terms used in this research are defined either operationally or
conceptually for better understanding of the study.

Database- a structured set of data held in a computer, especially one that

is accessible in various ways.

Development- the process of developing or being developed.

Functional- having a special activity, purpose, or task; relating to the way

in which something works or operates.

Implementation-the process of putting a decision or plan into effect;

execution.

Modification- a change made.

CHAPTER 3

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the Research Design, setting of the study, subject of the study,
Sources of data, procedure of the study and statistical treatment

Research Design
 The researchers will use Developmental design in testing the

effectiveness of the development of web page design for storing student's profile

database forms.

According to Richey, Rita C. developmental research, as opposed to

simple instructional development, has been defined as the systematic study of

designing, developing, and evaluating instructional programs, processes, and products

that must meet criteria of internal consistency and effectiveness.

The researchers chose this kind of research design because we think that

this will help us test the effectiveness of our study.

Setting of the Study

The study was accomplished at Morong National High School (MNHS), Morong,

Rizal. The institution of the Morong National High School comes about when the Rizal

Technological Polytechnic Institute (RTPI) was changed to Rizal Polytechnic College

(RPC). This is upon the ratification of Republic Act. No.7933.

Morong National High School was opened with 734 first year students coming

from the elementary school of Morong and nearby municipality. There are 19 new

teachers who in progress the school. Ten (10) were volunteer teachers from the RPC

and nine (9) teachers were hired by the municipal Government unit of Morong during

DECS (Rizal).
 From 1996 to the present, many infrastructures of the school were established.

There are a number of school services such as laboratories for different subjects,

Guidance/Prefect of Discipline office, School Clinic, Museum, SPED Multi-Media

Center, School Canteen and Library. Efficient Offices were also constructed like

Principals office, Registrar, EMIS and some modified places noticeable to the students

desire. The school also tender Alternative Learning System (ALS) for out of school

youth.

The Morong National High School dream is to be the middle of efficient teachers

and staff will develop academically, agriculturally and technologically skilled individuals

nurtured with the spirit of nationalism, and its mission is to develop students excellence

in academic, agricultural and technological education through comprehensive

curriculum to produce God-loving.

professionals and competent individuals who are loyal to his country and can act as

positive agent of change.

Currently, Morong National High School is an integrated school where it is

occupied by Junior High School and Senior High School. The Morong Senior High

School offers Academic track with the following strands: Accountancy and Business

Management (ABM), Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and

Humanities and Social Science (HUMSS). Technical Vocational Livelihood (TVL) track
includes the following strands: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Electrical

Installation and Management (EIM), Food and Beverages Services (FBS), and

Caregiving. There are 661 of students in MNHS-SHS.

Subject of the Study

The researchers' main objective is to use a questionnaire-checklist to

assess the development of web page design for storing student's database forms.

The researchers will use convenience sampling in choosing the

respondents for the study.

The respondents that will be use in our study are the G12-Irigaray STEM

students to asses the development of web page design in storing student's database

forms.

Sources of Data

The study will develop of webpage design for storing students profile

database forms in Morong National High School (MNHS). The researchers will use

questionnaire checklist to the respondents.

The researchers need the approval of an IT expert for the product of the study.

The IT expert is the one who is assisting the researchers to develop the study.
 The questionnaire checklist to be used in this study contains variable such as

user-friendliness, acceptability, reliability, stability, usability, functionality and flexibility of

the development of webpage design for storing students profile database forms. The

scales of acceptability used in the questionnaire checklist are as follows:

5- Very satisfied

4- Satisfied

3- Neither satisfied or dissatisfied

2- Unsatisfied

Very unsatisfied

The data will be gathered from the answer in the questionnaire checklist of the

G12 STEM students from Morong National High School.

Procedure of the Study

The researchers first identified the information to get the functional requirements.

it will be followed by the formulation of the title which is the "The development of

webpage design for storing students profile database forms.

The researchers will make the flowchart to design out by what means will the database

will be produced and deliberately analyze the procedures to guarantee the

accomplishment of the database.

The following stage is the researchers will test the new framework to check the entire

framework if it's working all together, and furthermore to guarantee that the framework

will meet its prerequisites, for example, usability.

After these, the researchers will actualize the new framework to the objective

clients/customers to test if it's successfully use for them.

The pretest and posttest of the survey will be approved utilizing the part half strategy for

test approval. The STEM cluster 2017-2018 will fill in as the respondents of in the

approval of the said test.

After the assessment of the outcomes from the respondents, the researchers will

now alter the database as indicated by the clients' point of view. From the pretest

and posttest from all the poll agenda will be deciphered - the translated

information, conclusions and suggestions will be drawn.

Statistical Treatment

The problem and research question will be solve by the following

statistical treatment:

1. The level of acceptability of the development of web page design for

storing student's profile database forms will be determined by the

Responsiveness of the webpage, user friendliness, framework and accessibility

the mean will be used.

 2. Is the serve as a helpful instrument, dependent T-test will be used to

determine the answer.
