Academic Standard S1C3PO4: Describe how the Allies won World War II

Today I will describe D-Day and how the successful Allied invasion of France led to victory in
Content Objective
Europe by working in groups to complete an assignment

Today I will review the three steps/phases towards allied victory with the idea: Battle of Stalingrad, Operation
Language Objective Torch, and D-Day all lead to the Nazi losing France and prepared for the invasion of Germany.

Anticipatory Set/ We will watch a video about D-Day and the students will answer questions about the Allied invasion of
Building Background France, show video clip of Allies rushing the beaches of Normandy, as well as showing video clip of Saving
Private Ryan.
