ATTENDANCE
Punctuality, complete uniform and brings along the well-stocked PT kit
PATIENT RAPPORT
Able to introduce him/herself properly as the therapist
Shows eagerness and a positive feel to the patient being treated
Able to introduce such assistive device to the patient as to their use,
advantage and disadvantage
Assure the patient that he/she will be treated with utmost care
VITAL SIGNS
Should be mindful to take vital signs before, during and after the
treatment session
Should be able to ask whether the patient took medications prior to
physical therapy that would disrupt the flow of the exercise program

PRECAUTIONS x 2
Should not forget to look for the clinical descriptors (NWB, FWB, PWB,
etc.) as provided by the physiatrist
Gait belts must be properly used during the duration of the whole
treatment process
PROPER BODY MECHANICS
Should be mindful of the proper body alignment including the position of
the patient while using the assistive device
SKILL x 2
Able to identify what assistive device (canes, walkers, crutch, etc.)that
best suits the patient during ambulation training
Able to correctly fit the assistive device to the patient
Able to select the proper technique to be used in using the assistive
device
Able to instruct the patient through a step-by-step process in using such
assistive device with proper cueing
The patient should be able to grasp the instructions given by the
therapist and performs such technique in a rightful manner
Able to anticipate worst scenarios such as falling and address it quickly

Answers accurately supported by relevant theories and principles of the
given topic
