School: Inner northern metropolitan co-educational public High School

Demographic: Student families are predominantly working to middle class, as the schools
area is becoming increasingly gentrified. Families have a mixture of
multicultural and religious backgrounds speaking over 20 different
languages. Many of the students are Australian born. Student academic
standard are predominantly at expected level, with a number below average
and above average. The school is populated with 1500 students taught by
100 teachers. The student ratio is 50% female, 50% male, a school highly
sought after.
Commitment: Northumberland High is committed to providing the best education for
students as possible. Teachers are highly trained in their academic areas, and
the school is committed to furthering their training in every way possible to
benefit the school. The school is focused on engaging students in their

2. Bullying and Harassment Policy
All have the right to work and learn in an environment free
of bullying, harassment and discrimination
Principles and staff have the obligation to the duty of care of
students, stepping in when possible to minimise and prevent
bullying, discrimination or harassment. They have the
obligation to use restorative practices for the misbehaving
student to reflect on their behaviour and restore social
relationships and security for those impacted by the
behaviour.
