Dear Sir/Madam,

Ally Van De Burgt was a volunteer participant in a Research Project undertaken in the
School of Education at Federation University (Gippsland campus). The project: Science
Education beyond the classroom: pre-service teacher views and reflections, aims to:

1. Improve pre-service teacher pedagogy and competence in science teaching
2. Develop partnership projects between university science teacher
educators/researchers, pre-service teachers, and local school communities
3. Renew pre-service teacher science education curriculum in accordance with
current AITSL standards.

As a volunteer participant in this Project, Ally provided valuable insights into the ways in
which Science is both understood and practiced by pre-service teachers, particularly in
relation to conducting science beyond the classroom environment. Allys participation in the
Research Project is testament to her willingness to be a reflective learner and teacher.

We are pleased to have this opportunity to acknowledge the commitment to, and passion for
teaching and learning demonstrated by Ally. Her voluntary efforts have made a substantial
contribution to the ways in which Science education in undergraduate studies can best equip
pre-service teachers in their future practice.

In appreciation
