on the understanding that strong writing skills are crucial for future success. Especially, when trained tutors work one-by-
one with students a great progress can be achieved. The services are provided free of charge and include a range of
programs for individual students, classrooms or schools in the Bay Area making writing fun.

Valencia has become part of a network of non-pro ts and stores in the U.S.
The founders attached a writing lab to the store and designed it as a place where kids would like to
play and be productive. Therefore, they provided a cozy reading tent, big work tables, and a great
variety of books. The range of programs was extended by growing partnerships with teachers, writing
professionals as well as relationships with neighborhood families.
