VISION : Striving for global recognition for excel-

lence in Mechanical Engineering Education and Re-
search. for the advancement of the industry and so-
ciety.
Mission:
Providing quality education to the students
and enhancing their skills to make them glob-
ally sustainable Mechanical Engineers.
Providing state of the art laboratory and re-
search facilities to the students and faculty
with opportunities to create, interpret, apply
and disseminate practical knowledge.
Interact with industry to integrate R&D activi-
ties along with academic learning to engineer
in response to the change requirement,needs
of the society and industry.
Dr. K. Palani swami, HOD-Mechanical Engineering, VIT-
t
Vellore visited the department on April 7 h and expressed
happiness towards the progress in research works taken
up by the Department for developing R&D activities in the
department. He advised all faculty must publish papers in
scopus indexed journals for improving API score.
Dr. D. Ravishanker, Principal, TKR college of Engineering
& Technology visited the department on April 28th as a
part of Project examiner. He congratulated the project co-
ordinator and guides for their efforts in bringing quality
projects.
Department of Mechanical Engineering
He expressed satisfaction about the quality of projects
done by IV B.Tech students. He made round in the de-
partment, visited the labs, R&D center, etc and advised
for improving the quality of teaching trough live exam-
ples, more use of PPTs and video lectures.
Dr. Udai Kumar, Assoc. Professor, Mahatma Gandhi In-
stitute of Technology, Gandipet, Hyderabad visited the
Department of Mechanical Engineering on 29th April. He
visited the department as external examiner for conduct-
ing viva-voce for final year main Projects for awarding
marks as per the guidelines from the University. He felt
very happy about the quality of the projects and models
presented by the students. He appreciated the guides for
bringing the quality projects, announced the best three
projects and advised the department to give certificate
of appreciation for best projects both faculty and stu-
dents.

done by IV B.Tech students. He also visited all labs, R&D
center, etc and advised for improving the quality of teach-
ing trough live examples, effective usage of PPTs and
video lectures.
Establishment of Additional Labs
As per the revised syllabus R16 from JNTUHyderabad ,
two new labs; Thermodynamics lab and Kinematics and
Dynamics of Machinery are established for the depart-
ment. The main objective of Thermodynamics lab is to
understand the source of automotive fuels and lubricants,
their basic properties, determination of air requirement
for the combustion of fuels and basic theory of lubrica-
tion. The lab is equipped with Bomb calorimeter appa-
ratus, Junkers calorimeter, Saybolt Viscometer, Redwood
Viscometer and flash and fire point apparatus. Kinemat-
ics and Dynamics of Machines introduces the Mechani-
cal Engineering student to the motion and interaction of
machine elements. Fundamental concepts of statics, kine-
matics, and dynamics will be applied to the determina-
tion of the motion and interaction of machine elements,
as well as forces acting on machines and mechanisms.
Specific applications will be made to mechanisms such as
rotating machinery, cams, gears, flywheels, and balanc-
ing.

The news of all activities of the department are essential
to circulate to bring awareness among the faculty to im-
prove interest in department and R&D activities. The de-
partment is growing in terms of infrastructure, resources
and talent pool and has come to be recognized as a de-
partment of choice by Mechanical Engineering student
community. Now it is the time the department to dedi-
cate itself to the cause of quality learning and set higher
goals for itself in the field of Mechanical education. ......
