The Space Shuttle Discovery is currently targeted for launch from the
Kennedy Space Center in Florida during a window between July 13 and
July 31. Discovery is scheduled to land at Kennedy at the conclusion
of the mission about 11 days later. However, if the weather or other
conditions prevent a landing in Florida, the shuttle could be
diverted to the primary back-up landing site at NASA Dryden Flight
Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.
Media covering the mission from Johnson using Kennedy credentials must
contact the newsroom by July 6 to arrange workspace, phone lines and
other logistics. Johnson is responsible for credentialing media in
the event of a Shuttle landing at White Sands Space Harbor, N.M. If a
landing is imminent at White Sands, credentials will be arranged.
