People tend to think that they dont know anything about the language when they start
studying English. But English is everywhere. We are exposed to some isolated words, although
we dont live in a bilingual country.

Think about an expression that you use, it can be something related to your profession, it can
be some kind of food, something that you have read on a T-shirt, anything. Every person has
some kind of knowledge in the English language.

In order to make your learning process more interesting, I would like you to try to remember
all the words you already know in this language. So, lets do an exercise.

One of the first things that you learn when you start an English course is to talk a little about
yourself. This is usually called INTRODUCING YOURSELF. As this is our first class, this exercise
can be a good idea for us to get to know each other.

My name is Queila. I am thirty-four years old (34), I am single and I dont have kids. I study at
the university where I am majoring in Psychology and I also work at the hospital as an intern. I
live with my father and my mother and two dogs in a small town called Gravata. You must
have already noticed that I am very shy, but I tend to loosen up over time. What about you?
Could you tell me a little about yourself?
