Other days I get up early, go downstairs, put on
my computer and teach on EF English Live for
three hours. Then I have a break, eat dinner with
my son, have a walk or go shopping before
returning to work and teaching again for another
three hours. Working at home can be very
convenient and I love being able to talk to people
around the world. It is also nice working in a school
 and seeing people on a regular basis and working
in a team. So I feel I have the best of both worlds.

1. LAS RUINAS DE MACHU PICCHU EN PER LA
CIVILIZACIN INCA
En lo alto de los Andes peruanos, la ciudadela de
Machu Picchu parece suspendida en la niebla de
las montaas. Precariamente erguida en un
crestn rocoso con hondos precipicios a los lados,
esta ciudad de una raza extinguida hace mucho
fue descubierta apenas en el siglo XX, 400 aos
despus de su cada. Encajonada entre las
cumbres por encima del Urubamba, Machu Picchu
resulta invisible para cualquiera que desconozca
su ubicacin.
El centro de la ciudad se corresponde con una
pequea meseta donde se encuentra la Plaza
Sagrada, flanqueada por los templos principales y
las casas ms espaciosas. En las laderas a su
alrededor, se hallan las terrazas de cultivo que
abastecan en su da a sus pobladores.
THE RUINS OF MACHU PICCHU IN PERU THE
INCA CIVILIZATION
At the top of the Peruvian Andes, the citadel of
Machu Picchu seems suspended in the fog of the
mountains. Precariously erected in a rocky ridge
with deep cliffs at the sides, this city of a race
extinguished long ago was barely discovered in the
twentieth century, 400 years after its fall. Tucked
between the peaks above the Urubamba, Machu
Picchu is invisible to anyone who does not know its
location.
The center of the city corresponds to a small
plateau where is the Sacred Plaza, flanked by the
main temples and the more spacious houses. On
the slopes around it, there are the terraces of
cultivation that supplied in their day to its settlers.

a.C, como capital de los nabateos que logr

ciudad form parte del importante entramado de
las rutas comerciales de las caravanas que
transportaban incienso, metales preciosos, hierbas
aromticas y betn desde el Mar Mediterrneo,
como ya dejara escrito el historiador griego
Diodoro de Sicilia en el siglo I a.C.
A pesar de los intentos que se vienen realizando,
a travs de las excavaciones arqueolgicas, para
desenmascarar la historia de este pueblo, todava
resulta imposible establecer un hilo conductor
uniforme.
En agosto de 1812, durante un viaje por Oriente,
el suizo Johann Ludwig Burckhardt (1784-1817)
se enter por boca de un peregrino de que muy
cerca de donde se encontraba habla una ciudad
excavada en la roca.
PETRA CITY OF STONE-MONUMENTS
JORDAN
The history of Petra dates back to the 3rd century
BCE, as the capital of the Nabataeans that
managed to remain, as such, until the 1st century
AD. The city was part of the important network of
caravan routes carrying incense, precious metals,
aromatic herbs and bitumen from the
Mediterranean Sea, as the Greek historian
Diodorus of Sicily wrote in the 1st century BC.
In spite of the attempts that have been made,
through the archaeological excavations, to unmask
the history of this town, it is still impossible to

In August 1812, during a trip through the East, the
Swiss Johann Ludwig Burckhardt (1784-1817)
learned by the mouth of a pilgrim that very close to
where he was speaking a city dug in the rock.

Me cuento como un asiduo lector de su revista deportiva
Deportendencias, y le agradezco que tenga esta

En mi opinin es una lstima que hayan propuesto que el
bsquetbol sea retirado de los juegos panamericanos
que se realizaran en Guadalajara, y ms despus de
que Mxico sea uno de los primeros pases en los que
lleg el bsquetbol, y la circunstancia por la cual lo
retiran es desde mi punto de vista un absurdo.
Como la resolucin de retirarla de la justa deportiva aun
no es definitiva, es solo cuestin de esperar la conclusin
de los directivos. De cualquier forma, este evento
deportivo es una justa muy importante para nuestro pas.
Lo nico que falta, es que nuestros competidores

In my opinion, it is a pity that they have proposed that

view an absurdity.
