Witches Wizards and Magic Day
Wowjust wow! That was my over 1,000 to spend on books, which

School Uniform
We have in school a small stock of
school fleeces. With the colder
weather now approaching, these are
ideal for playtimes and walking
to/from school. For the remaining
stock, we are able to sell these 1
cheaper than available online at just
13.50 (cash/cheques accepted).
Please contact Mrs Forster in the
school office for more information.
PTA Questionnaire
Thank you to the parents who have
already returned the questionnaire
that was recently sent out. The return
rate has been very low (less than 10
for over 180 families). The PTA would
greatly value receiving your views as
a means to improve how the PTA
works for the school. More paper
copies are available in school. Thank
you.
PTA Disco
You should be receiving information
about the Halloween Disco which will
take place on Tuesday 24th October.
There is also a competition form for
the children being distributed. If you
are a UK Tax Payer, we ask that you
consider completing a Gift Aid
Declaration form which will allow the
PTA to collect additional money from
Government for this donation as well
as future donations. If you have
already completed a form, you dont
need to complete another one. We
have just received a cheque for nearly
300 from HMRC for donations given
as part of the family camp over and
other Summer Term events, which
really helps to boost PTA funds.

Parents Views
If you would like to give other views
about the school, this can always be
done through Ofsteds Parent View no toddler group on Friday 20th
website. There is a need to register
on the website before answering a
number of questions. This feedback
can really help school leaders and
school governors to shape the future
of the school.
Can I also remind parents that I am
always keen to hear feedback (be it
positive or negative). I try to be
available at the beginning of the day
on the playground, alternatively I can
be contacted by phone (01606
883298) or by email
(head@sandiway.cheshire.sch.uk). I
am happy to make an appointment to
speak to parents in person at a time
that is mutually convenient.
Near miss
One of our parents has reported to
Cheshire Police that they witnessed a
near miss occurring
on the zebra
crossing this week.
A former pupil was
using the crossing
correctly and a
vehicle failed to stop. Luckily, the
pupil was able to take action that
resulted in them avoiding a serious
collision. Please remind children how
to use the crossing correctly and
please also talk to them about other
road users who often appear to be
totally unaware of such crossings and
the laws that exist in their use. As
parents, we must always set good
examples to our children whilst using
the road, no matter how late we are
or how busy traffic is. A moments
lapse in concentration or taking an
unnecessary risk can be life-changing
for all involved.
Flu immunisation
Parents of
Reception to
Year 4 children
will have
received
information and consent forms for
this immunisation programme. This
will take place in school on Friday 20th
October.
Due to needing to use the school
hall for this programme, there will be
October.
Cauliflower Cards
We hope you have now received an
order form with a piece of art work
from your child(ren). Please complete
the order form and send back to
school as soon as possible (before
Monday 16th October). We will send
these off so that your orders will be
back in school in good time before
Christmas. The school makes a small
commission on your orders. This year
we will be using the commission to
fund a theatre group for the whole
school before Christmas so
everyone will benefit from your kind
support.
Church Hall Car Park
Please be aware that the Church Hall
Car Park is being resurfaced during
the week of 23rd October. I know a
few parents use the car park at
collection/drop off please find an
alternative place to park during this
time. Please also be aware that the
work may cause additional traffic at
busy times. Can I remind you that the
Village Hall car park is also available
for us to use this less than a five-
minute walk away from school.
Online Payments
We hope that the online payment
system is helping you with managing
payments to school. As part of the
package that we bought, there are
additional charges that are incurred
when you make payments. As a
means to reduce these charges
(which the school meet as part of the
service), it is cheaper if you set up
your payments as a bank transfer
rather than using the long card
number on a debit or credit card. By
using the bank transfer method, it is
also possible to split payments for
different children and different items
it also saves typing in card details
each time.
