Projects

Multi-Agent based simulation of an RFID environment [Research Project]

Team Size: 2
Technical Environment: QT, MySQL, CPP, OpenGL.
Abstract: This project involves building a general environment consisting of RFID
readers and tags. We also suggest a better placement of RFID readers in a general
environment. Later on we extend this to a specific environment like a super market
and build functionalities like shopping, data mining etc.

Multi-Object Motion tracking in a video

Team Size: 2
Technical Environment: Windows, Matlab (Image Processing Toolkit)
Abstract: The project was done as a part of Digital Image Processing course. Motion
of the desired objects in a video is to be tracked. We used a Multi view-port based
approach where we associate a view-port to each object based on object features,
speed and acceleration of the motion.
Guide: Dr. Jayanthi Sivaswamy

Finding Related Pages in the World Wide Web
Team Size: 2
Technical Environment: Perl, Google API
Abstract: A related web page is one that addresses the same topic but is not
necessarily semantically identical. Given an URL of a web page the related pages
should be obtained using algorithms which exploit hyperlink structure and the order
of the links.

AGRIDS Pattern mining from an agricultural database

Team Size: 2
Technical Environment: MySQL, C/C++, Perl, WEKA (a data mining toolkit)
Abstract: This project involved mining on the advices given on the pest control for
farmers. We analyzed a large dataset of field types, climatic conditions and the
advices given to farmers, clustered them so that the existing pest prediction system
can be made scalable.
