Aaron siskind

I like these photos because they are so dark yet so wonderful at the same time.
Aaron siskind was born in December 4, 1903 in New York and died February 8,
1991 in providence Rhode Island. He was an American teacher, editor, and
photographer who is best known for his innovations in abstract photography. He
began photographing in 1932 while he was an English teacher in the New York
City. Once a member of the photo league he documented neighborhood life
during the Depression. Unlike other documentary series of the period hid Dead
end: The Bowery and Harlem Document shows as much concern for pure
design as for the plight of his subjects. After the late 1930s he no longer
photographed people but instead on architectural photography. In the early
1940s he began photographing patterns and textures.
