The PPRA is the environmental risk prevention program and is an integral part of the company's
broader set of initiatives in the field of the preservation of workers' health and safety, and should be
in line with other regulations, in particular with the Occupational Health Medical Control Program
(PCMSO), NR7.

Who should elaborate?

The law states that all employers and institutions that admit workers as employees should develop
and implement the Environmental Risk Prevention Program (PPRA) based on NR 9.
The PPRA must be developed within each workplace, with special attention to anticipating risks,
recognizing the existence of these risks, evaluating them through concentration and exposure
measurements, and constantly monitoring their occurrence.

What are the risks involved?

The environmental risks cited by the regulatory standard stand out: the chemical, physical and
biological risks, thus not including the risks of accidents and the ergonomic ones.

Among the agents of chemical risks we can mention the various dust and gases; the agents of
physical risks can mention ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, high and low temperatures, noise,
vibrations; agents of biological risks we can mention fungi, parasites, viruses and bacteria.

When analyzing the nature to which the employee is exposed, we can consider factors such as
intensity and time of exposure, because to be considered an environmental risk in fact, the set of
these factors together with the nature of the agents, should be enough to cause damage to the health
of the worker.
