SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OPERATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
To direct the Companys Operations and Administration
functions in providing staff support services to operating groups in the areas of operations, distributions, personnel, and corporate office administrative services, and participate as a member of the Executive Committee in planning and controlling corporate growth and evaluating performance against objectives.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Senior Vice President Operations and Administration is
the corporations chief administrative/operations officer, and as such has responsibility for planning and directing activities of the following functions:
Operations Responsible for formulation of corporate
policies, programs, and procedures as they relate to Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering, Purchasing (Commodity and Material), Productivity, Distribution, Operations Research, Energy, Environment, and Corporate Office services.
Personnel Responsible for developing and maintaining
policies, procedures, and action programs designed to insure the effective allocation of human resources and to provide effective relationships between employees and the Company so as to ensure a total work force that is appropriately organized, trained, compensated and motivated to effectively meet the Companys current and future needs.
The incumbent is a member of the Executive Committee and
actively Participates in reviewing and approving corporate objectives and evaluating performance against these objectives. He is also Chairman of the Compensation Planning Committee, which has responsibility for development and control of all major compensation and benefit programs.
Reporting directly to the incumbent are: Vice President
Personnel and the Vice President Operations.
The position requires superior judgment and analytical
skills, as well as a proven capacity for rendering objective business decisions. Knowledge and well-developed skills in selecting and motivating key personnel are important.
The Senior Vice President Operations and Administration
has broad decision-making authority within a policy framework established by the President. He keeps the President fully apprised of progress and problems via periodic reports and informal discussion.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABLITIES:
1. As a member of the Executive Committee, actively
participates in planning, approving, revising and implementing overall corporate growth strategies and policies.
2. Directs the Operations, Distribution, Operations Research,
and Personnel activities to assure that each of these functions meet established goals and provide effective service to the corporation as a whole.
3. Develops, recommends, evaluates and obtains approval of all
major corporate personnel and operational plans and programs within the context of overall Company policies.
4. Selects, develops, and motivates necessary management talent
to maintain an organization with breadth and depth sufficient to attaint established corporate objectives.
5. As Chairman of the Compensation Planning Committee, guide
the development of innovative compensation and benefit programs and provide for control of this important cost element.
6. As a senior officer of the company, play a leading and
active role in supporting our objective to contribute to social justice and to solutions of major problems.
